I made a game in 48 hours for a game jam! Get it here!
There’s about an hour of gameplay and 4 different endings. To unlock the best ending, be sure to pick up the 6 documents scattered around the game. Only then will the true ending make itself known.

I don’t really like making post like this but this has been on my mind lately so I’m going to talk about it.
Please try not to make negative comments that discourage others to make a game. We’re a small community here on tumblr, and telling people they should burn down a game over their graphics fences out newbies to the development scene who can’t do their own graphics or don’t want to worry about spending an extra 60 hours on graphics.
It’s also impolite and hostile towards other developers who’ve worked hard on their games in spite of their graphical capabilities - and considering the RPG Maker community is about 3,000+ people with half of them being developers, you’re alienating half of your potential audience.
Comments like that are acceptable on sites like 4chan or sites dedicated to the discussion of commercial games. Saying exaggerated statements there is cool since it’s a part of the culture, and anyone looking to share their games there has thick enough skin that they don’t give a darn. The RPG maker community is different since most of us are just having fun making games in our spare time, and are ok if someone’s game isn’t the best thing ever since well, none of our games are. We’re just having fun, we don’t take gam mak too seriously. Please don’t make yourself look like a fool by taking it so seriously yourself.
Inclusive game development, yo. Everyone starts somewhere. Not everyone who makes games can make/afford good graphics or do custom engineering. Being able to give constructive feedback without being an ass is a sign of being… well, a functioning adult.

Playtesters and Proofreaders needed!
Hey, everyone, sorry for the lack of posts in these… 3 days? I was sending a demo version of Virgo to friends for them to playtest and was re-thinking some stuff about the flow of the game, pacing, difficulty, and the gameplay itself (lots of bureaucracy I can’t show, rly). Some people playtested Virgo, and feedback has been mixed in certain areas, so I think it should be good to hear more extensive criticism on the game before releasing it!
That’s why I’m in dire need for Playtesters and also Proofreaders! As some of you may know, I’m not a native english speaker, so I need a lot of help with that! I already fixed some of the major mistakes, as @pinkuboa helped me, but I may need more proofread for the rest of the demo.
For playtesters, I need someone who will:
Have the spare time to play through the 2 endings of the demo, with 1 hour and 40 minutes in each playthrough;
Be willing to give throughout criticism for each segment of the game;
Give criticism on the plot, structure, flow, pacing and gameplay, battles, difficulty, mechanics, boss battles and assets.
Be able to bug test the demo, looking for bugs everywhere.
For Proofreaders, I need someone who is a native english speaker, or at least fluent in it, so that any prior mistakes on the game can be fixed before releasing the demo.

All the inspiration I need.
I hope another "big break" RM game comes along soon. There hasn't really been a hugely successful game since LISA, and that was three years ago now. Here's hoping something makes the big time to reinvigorate RPG Maker again.
What about Oneshot? I thought that was on the top of the RPG Maker tag on And on the non-commercial front
Well, Oneshot, Angels of Death, & World’s Dawn (it was released before Oneshot thus lower on the list) have been really successful. Same with Ara Fell (still on the front page of “tagged: rpgmaker” best seller’s list).
The free to play front has Pocket Mirror, which is currently sitting at 42,000+ downloads on RPGMaker.net (the fifth most downloaded game on the site of all time - and it hasn’t even been out for a year!). That’s not counting the downloads you have from itch.io & direct links to uploads either. And the Lonely Wolf Treat series is the most popular RPG Maker game(s) in the itch.io RPGMaker tag (remember: no space for itch.io).
You also have GLITCHED game & Long Gone Days who did some impressive stuff in MV, but didn’t stick with the engine. Even then, they showed what you can do with RPG Maker which is always a good thing. :o

Abandoned by his owner and left to starve, Hunter joins your party after you free him from his chains. Loyal to a fault, Hunter will stop at nothing to repay you for saving his life. His ruff and rowdy nature conceal a gentle and wounded heart.
Hunter uses a metal chain as a weapon. His attacks and abilities are based off of combo inputs!

New Demo and A “Let’s Play!”
A new version of the demo has been released!
This new version clarifies some of the game mechanics and provides some relief for RPG first timers. Some minor bugs have also been fixed.

The Long Road is a heartwarming, hilarious and (sometimes) tragic Adventure RPG scheduled to release in Q3 2017 on Steam.
5% of all proceeds will go directly to fund no-kill animal shelters!
