The Worst Person In The World (2021) dir. Joachim Trier
Nearly two weeks since initial viewing and I'm still thinking about this film. Between this and 2010's Norwegian Wood this felt more akin to what it's like to read a Murakami novel (or in this case, his series of short stories, Men Without Women). The conversation in the car between Yusuke and Koji will stay with me for a long time. If you have the chance, give Drive My Car a try. You won't regret it.

Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac in THE YOUNG GIRLS OF ROCHEFORT (1967) dir. Jacques Demy
I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame. ATONEMENT (2007) DIR. JOE WRIGHT
