It's often the most male-catered to and even misogynistic media that feature some of the deepest and borderline homoerotic relationships between men. But that is to be expected. People think that patriarchy enabling homoaffectionate relationships between men is a bug, but it's actually a feature. True love can only come from a place of respect, and men often don't respect nor esteem women. They don't see women as capable of intellect, or strength, or imagination or even humanity. Those attributes are reserved to men. Which is why men's true love is often reserved for other men while women are just props to them. That's why it's easier for a lot of male writers to create stories about supposedly heterosexual male characters having the most world-shattering (accidentally romantic) bonds with other men, but not with women that they're canonically attracted to. It's because they can't fathom their male protagonist being so deeply affected by a woman's character, since women are to be lusted for and kept as props for their little domestic fantasies but never truly respected or admired as individuals. The ancient greeks were more honest about this stuff because they understood that patriarchy and male/male affection went hand in hand.
truly breathtaking just how many series would be massively improved if the author gave a shit about women
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, men’s and women’s joggers (all sizes), children’s clothing (newborn to size 14), children’s shoes, summer clothing, men’s clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

Friends, we don't care about food right now... all we want is to save my grandmother. 💔🙏
It has been 4 days without any support or donations !? while my grandmother urgently needs her daily medication, which costs €60 per day—€420 every week.🙏💔😭
Please don't let her reach the point where the treatment is no longer effective and her condition becomes critical.🙏
My grandmother means the world to me. Along with my mother, my child, and my family, they are the most precious people in my life. We have given up our own basic needs, even food, because keeping my grandmother alive is our only priority.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing my campaign. It may reach someone who can help.🙏🙏
Every euro makes a difference, and every share could help save my grandmother's life.
Hilda🙏💔😭

Friends, I don't even know what to write anymore.‼️
It feels like no one hears my calls for help or sees how much my grandmother is suffering😥
🔴We ask for only one thing: that my grandmother can stay alive.💔
We've reduced our meals to just one a day so we can afford her medication. My mother goes without, and even my little child has less food because every euro we have goes toward keeping my grandmother alive.
I don't know when you'll stand by my side.
Will it be only after I lose someone I love‼️❓
Please don't leave my family alone. This campaign is our only source of hope and income after we lost everything in the war.🙏🙏
got so upset last night i drew homura picking up her hrt
Several wildfires are forcing members of a number of First Nations to flee their homes in northern Ontario.
“I had time to run home and pack a bag and get to the beach where the boats were waiting,” said a member of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins). “We literally had minutes to get on the boats and flee before it took our town. “Once we left my house finally after packing what I could in a pack sack, the fire was right behind our place. We had to run to the beach and once we got there, it was only moments before the fire had jumped over the (train) track and was coming for us.”
it has since been confirmed that namaygoosisagagun first nation has completely burnt to the ground. if you would like to help the community navigate an ongoing crisis, i urge you to donate to the anishinabek nation 7th generation, a registered charity seeking to improve the lives of first nations people. donations are going directly to members of namaygoosisagagun first nation.
if you're canadian, you can e-transfer [email protected]. if you're outside canada, they accept paypal as well. see more information HERE

if you’re a certain level of tall as a trans woman people will start acting like they genuinely believe it’s ok to treat you like transmisogynistic futa porn is real life and you’re the futa
this sounds like an exaggeration but literally i will mention that i'm 10cm taller than someone as a joke about how i can reach a taller shelf at the grocery store or something and the immediate response will almost always be "omg you're tall can you step on me" and i'm being fully serious. i hate it. believe it or not those extra 10cm don't make me want to have sex with every person who is shorter than me and also they don't make me a dom or a top.
has anyone considered that maybe this is sexual harassment? has anyone considered that maybe being taller than you doesn't mean i'm going to act like a futa from porn? has anyone considered that the trans woman might have some dysphoria surrounding height or pressure to be sexually dominant?
IDK I think if cis men are being told that being fat will lower their testosterone and make them Insufficiently Masculine, and cis women are being told that being fat will raise their testosterone and make them Excessively Masculine, and fat trans people are being denied the right to medically transition if they're fat, and thin trans people are warned against HRT because it will make them fat (and this is said about both testosterone and estrogen HRT), and androgynous-presenting people are told that only thin people count as androgynous...
Then maybe...
Maybe...
Maybe the weight loss industry is just using Gender to enforce fatphobia.
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.

Hello my name is Aylool and I live in Gaza. I turned 1 in September and that's where my name comes from.
I love to play like taking my mom's lipstick, getting stuck in my milk carton or annoying my sister by taking whatever she has, I'm only small 🙃
Hello my name is Aylool and I live in Gaza. I turned 1 in September and that's where my name comes from.
I live with my mom, dad and big sister who is 2.5 but life is very hard for us here. We are living in a tent which gets so cold at night-time, wet in the rain and full of insects.💔🙏🏾
Because we have no proper hygiene, Me and sham keep getting sick with bacterial infections in our stomachs, lungs and skin. Every time we get sick our mom builds up debt trying to get the right medicine for us and it us very stressful.
I hope you can help us with whatever you can, just to try and keep us healthy and safe. Our mom worries about keeping food in our bellies and clothes to keep us warm and your help would make such a difference to our lives.
Please, I desperately need it, no matter how small.
DON'T LET POVERTY DECIDE WHETHER MY BABY LIVES OR DIES TODAY PLEASE.
Today, I watched baby Qais stare silently at other children playing nearby. He tried to stand and follow them, but pain forced him back to the ground. He lowered his head, and I watched my child's smile disappear.
He did not cry. He only looked at me with eyes asking a question I could not answer: "Mama, when will I be able to walk and play again?" That question shattered my heart more than anything else.
I have nothing left except this desperate plea. I am begging you as a mother whose child still dreams of walking without pain. Please donate today and help give baby Qais the chance to smile, walk, and live again.
Please donate now Gofundme
I am begging you as a persecuted mother in Gaza, watching my baby bleed in front of me, unable to stop it. Please donate now and help me save his life before it’s too late.
Don't scroll past these words. They may be my last chance to find someone willing to help save baby Qais. Please donate today—your kindness could become the reason my child survives.
whenever people talk about regret irt medical transition and top surgery especially i always think of an older cis(ish) butch woman who was always quick to tell anyone she saw binding about how she did it for decades because of severe dysphoria and how she absolutely wrecked her back and now in her old age couldnt comfortably bind anymore but also had other like unrelated health and aging issues that meant she no longer felt safe with the risk of surgery besides what she already needed. and basically that she was put off from surgery because of stupid ftm butch border wars and narratives about regret and unnecessary cosmetic surgeries and what she always told those ppl binding was that they should get surgery as soon as possible and not risk another year of binding and developing back pain or risk the possibility being taken away from them. loved that diva down but every interaction with her was so thoroughly colored by the deep regret she felt at not pursuing transition. that's the kind of regret and longing i think about and worry about irt medical transition far far more than regrets about doing the transitioning in the first place ykwim
