summer, fall, & winter running
🌳 🍁 ❄️
Friendly reminder to check you’re not holding tension in your body. Let your shoulders drop, unclench your hands and jaw. Take a deep breath. Much better.
If running was about weight, there’d be a scale at the end instead of a finish line.
My wise older brother (via soundmindsoundbodyforlifee)
I automatically hate anyone who says “you need to do x amount of burpees/crunches/high knees/WHATEVER to burn off that slice of pizza/cookie/piece of pie/WHATEVER.”
Like first of all, how about we stop looking at exercise as a punishment for eating and start seeing it as something we should be doing because it has awesome health benefits (aside from calorie burning) and makes us feel good. And also how about let’s stop viewing food as something we need to immediately get rid of and punish ourselves for enjoying? Like both of these mindsets are so unhealthy. Food is fuel, whether it’s “healthy” or “unhealthy.” Your body literally needs calories to function. Yeah, it’s better if those calories have other nutrients your body needs to function BETTER, but calories are better than no calories. You physically cannot burn off every calorie you eat and continue to sustain yourself as a living being. And PS, laying in your bed doing nothing is still burning calories. So don’t let anyone make you feel like it’s your obligation to do 300 burpees just to “get rid” of that slice of pizza. Do burpees because you want to. Eat pizza because it’s good for your soul. If fitness is stressing you out, it’s not worth it. The whole entire point is to make you feel BETTER.
Finally on the road to recovery from my knee issues! Ran a 5k on Thursday and ran a nice 10 mile run with hill repeats in the middle. Can’t quite get back to lower body lifts, but I’m working on strengthening exercises and stretches to strengthen my core and lower body
Fuck it! Tonight I’m stressed, I’m hormonal, and I’m starving! So I ordered garlic sticks from Domino’s pizza!!
It’s ok to indulge once in a while. It’s ok to say “Fuck you diet!” for a day and go all out. You’re not going to gain 10 pounds from over eating in one day. Enjoy life. Enjoy eating for once. Put down the salad and the vegetables and eat fuckin junk food for once! It won’t kill you!
