YAYY LESTER DAY!!

I think it's crazy to blame TOA - which explictly spent most of its time grappling with the fact Apollo was a villain & complicit in villainy enacted by the system he is also a victim of - for this recent trend, but there is a recent trend in both the NA & SYA series and the tv show of making Zeus out to be the sole villain of this story and sanitizing/whitewashing especially his two brothers aka the daddies of our precious kid protagonists
Hello! I hope you're having a beautiful day. Can you perhaps suggest a fic or few where Apollo doesn't ascend to godhood (whether by his choice or not)?
Hey there! You can start with this post, and here's some to add to that...
I Pick an Age When I'm Gonna Disappear (Until Then, I Can Try Again) by y_vanille
Apollo finished his trials. But that doesn’t matter to Zeus. No, he’s still stuck on earth as a mortal until he dies, because the unfairness of Zeus knows no bounds. — Or, what if Apollo stayed mortal until he died, and now he’s running around doing gods know what, like helping a stray demigod!
Why am I mortal again, Zeus? by @justarandomcatlover
Apollo is turned into a mortal again! You do not have my consent to use the text in this work to, use to train AI, use this in AI, repost this to other sites such as Wattpad, translate this into other languages, or turn this into a podfic, the latter three can only be done with my explicit consent in the comments of this fic
I sat down on the street (took a look at myself) by @izzymrdb
I sat down on the street and took a look at myself Said where you going man you know the world is headed for hell Say your goodbyes if you've got someone you can say goodbye to ~"How Far We've Come" by Matchbox Twenty AKA The Fates, upset at Apollo refusing to return to Olympus and regain his godhood, unwind the tapestry and return him to when the story started going off track. This was a fatal mistake.
Til Death Do He Part AU by ArtJunkyard
A Trials of Apollo AU in which Apollo finishes his trials, but is seen as unfit to rejoin the olympians after the embarrassing things he has done, the insults he has thrown at them and the sensitive, Olympian-only information that he has shared. Zeus doesn’t want him to rejoin them on Olympus, and his word is law. Apollo is cast back down to live as a regular mortal who’s forbidden to enter the camps and have contact with deities. Hopefully he’ll just forget about them… right? There’s more information/art on this AU on the ToA discord, my instagram (my_art_junkyard) and my Tumblr (artjunkyardsdoodledump) This takes place nine years after the end of the trials, Lester is now 25.

Fics where Apollo doesn't ascend back to godhood and stays mortal. Pleaaaseeeee!
Hey there! I've only found three, so here's what we've got...
On godhood by somerandomoaktree
Apollo completed his trials, and was offered everything he had wanted during those long months of suffering. But, somehow, he didn't want to be a god anymore. He refused his father's offer. It was time to learn to be a human.
run for your children, for your sisters and your brothers by @iicaru2
Six months ago, Apollo was cast out of Olympus as a sixteen-year-old mortal as punishment for allowing the prophecy to be revealed too early— even though a prophecy, by design, cannot be “too early,” but he digressed. Today, a seventeen-year-old boy named Lester Papadopoulos stumbles out of the Empire State building, plants his clammy hands on his bloodstained knees, and promptly anxiety vomits onto the concrete. (Or: After his trials are over, Apollo chooses to stay mortal. The aftermath is both more and less horrible than he could’ve possibly imagined.)
Build It Bigger Than The Sun by @seavoice
An eternity. And an end. There are nearly unreconcilable differences between now and then, between boy and god, but one thing remains the same: the Fates can never let him stay, and they can never let him be happy. This is no longer looking like a good idea.
Apollo chooses to remain mortal. Surprisingly, it’s not the end of his journey.
We hope you enjoy! Leave kudos, leave a comment, and happy reading!

I like your art :D Also I saw your intro post and I’d love to know what to don’t like about the TV show bc there are some things I also don’t like (not the actors) @lestercore (my toa sideblog)
Hii!!! Thank you for being my first ask! :3 the only reason why I don't like the show that much is because of how inaccurate the scenes are and how some of the scenes and characters are getting removed from the show. But I am still chill with it and I'm fine with the show^^
I’ve only watched season one, but I didn’t like how they took away Sally’s moment of turning Gabe to stone herself. Like the other changes I didn’t mind that much, but that bit actually made me upset because Sally character development :(
Meg and Apollo hanging out post TOA:
Meg (in a very introspective tone): You know what the best feeling in the world is...?
Apollo: Being free of Nero? Getting to live out your life in this beautiful place with your loved ones? ...spending time with me?
Meg: When you put shredded cheese that's been in the fridge on top of hot spaghetti bolognese and it melts just slightly and then you eat it.
Apollo: ...You know what? that is the best feeling.
I don’t remember if in the books they talk about whether Meg went to school after the end of the trials, but now all I can think about is Apollo homeschooling her after looking at the public education system. He is definitely more qualified than Lu since he’s literally the god of knowledge, and how hard can it be?
I think Meg would start bringing up conspiracy theories to mess with him
“Why learn about birds if they aren’t real?”
“What.”
“They’re spies from the government-“
Speaking of which, Nero seems like the kind of parent who tells their kids blatantly untrue things offhandedly to fuck with them (and contribute to isolating them) so every time she does it there’s a chance she’s serious
i think meg stays in california in aeithales for a little while then eventually goes to school??? also nero 100% told his kids birds are spies LMAO
