It seems like whenever I post, it’s addressing the absolute trash fire that this fandom can be, but hey, someone’s gotta do it.

If you haven’t already seen JDS’s tweets already, here’s an easier to read version of the tweets.
Now I’m going to be completely transparent here while write this post: I don’t respect antis. I would never go and be mean to an anti or harass them at all, but I don’t respect antis. I don’t respect anyone who aligns themselves with Antis, with the people who outright disrespect the vld staff and others of the fandom. I don’t respect them, simple as that.
Now back to the letter. This letter….truly highlights what is wrong with this fandom. Threatening to break the wrists of Lauren, calling CPS on Josh, and the general nastiness towards Bex, while these weren’t addressed in the letter, the threats in general were addressed. And as someone who’s been in this fandom for awhile it’s….disappointing.
There was no queerbait, you were all told that Adam and Shiro broke up and were told MULTIPLE times that he would not be a recurring character. Even if Adam came back I doubt he’d have been a big character. His character existed to give us the rep that we wanted and show what Shiro struggled through to achieve his dreams. Adam existed to break the sterotype that was tacked onto Shiro, that a buff army dude couldn’t be LGBT. But after that Adam had no other reason to be with Shiro or in the season. “Bu-But the Netflix promos!-” Had Absolutely NOTHING to do with JDS and Lauren and the VAs, promos are exclusively handled by Netflix and JDS and Lauren saw none of them to approve them. This is not their fault and the threats need to stop.
The people who blindly follow the disgusting morals and reasonings of antis to send VLD writers are just a low down and disgusting as Antis are and…..that’s just it. They’ve said since S1 that romance wasn’t going to be a huge part of the series because it is after all a show about war, so Adam was NEVER meant to last and Antis, because I know you are reading this you knew that.
Threatening people, will NEVER EVER EVER BE OKAY!
You hyped Shadam up and you baited yourselves and you know it.
Lashing out at the staff will not change anything. Threatening the staff will do nothing but make you look like you’ve lost it amd does nothing to help your ships become Canon. It’s amazing that we have Shiro as rep, and we need to celebrate that because DreamWorks is not known for making LGBT characters, and this harassment needs to stop, because you’re only hurting yourself in the end and hurting the fandom as well.
Your selfish actions won’t help anything.
So stop hating, and just…. appreciate this while it last. I’ll see you all in November.
