I need to know if I’m the only person in the AG fandom who thinks of this or if I’m not alone But. In Samantha’s movie there’s that iconic scene of Nellie finding Eddie Ryland’s money jar and Samantha dumping all of it on the collection plate at church. Does anybody else wonder why Samantha and Nellie would be going to the same church in the first place?? Like Nellie is a 1st gen Irish immigrant so she’s 99.9% likely Catholic, and I’m not saying there’s no shot for Samantha to be Catholic as well (there were definitely upper-class Catholic families in the US even during the long anti-Catholic sentiment of the country) but it just feels unlikely for her to be cause everything about the Edwards/Parkington’s feels like they’re your early 20th century WASP’s. I’m probably looking too much into one innocent scene but it just feels like an annoying inaccuracy. Like Nellie did not HAVE to be in that church scene with Samantha, the most important thing was that she gave her the money jar (although her laughing at it and her da telling her to shush was adorable).
