My left handed baby. She had never used a left handed pair of scissors before, because I suck and never thought of it. This is her today, age 12, using lefty scissors for the first time. WITH HER RIGHT HAND. She pretended to be so amazed, because I was so excited for her. I didn't realize until later when I looked at the photos that she used her right hand. All these years and she never liked cutting. She ended up switching to her right hand at some point, I don't know when. I bought her five pairs of lefty scissors, one for every room in the house. And she's never used them. Parenting fail. I love this girl. My adaptable, creative, forgotten child.

British artist Jane Perkins uses all sorts of small, found plastic objects and a glue gun to create awesome assemblage pieces. Jane calls herself a “re-maker” for the way she repurposes everyday objects such as toys, shells, buttons, beads, jewelry, curtain hooks, springs, and so on. It doesn’t matter what the objects are, as long as they’re the right size, shape, and color. She says she doesn't use any color...just the color of the found plastic objects. The queen would be downright proud of her thriftiness!

Malaysian artist Hong Yi plays with her food. She makes illustrations on her plate with just one parameter: the image has to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop can be a white plate. With this in mind, Yi sets out to create landscapes, animals & even homages to pop culture. It's amazing - the complex imagery created from things in the fridge!

Shot over a period of 18 months, Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti’s project Toy Stories compiles photos of children from around the world with their prized possesions—their toys. Beautiful photos that reflect the world each child has been born into, and also tells a more anthropological story. In this instance, a picture truly is worth a thousand words.

Picture from Nemo snow day. We only got about 15 inches, but two towns over they got 35. Crazy! The dog went nuts in the snow, she loves it. But weirdly she settled down and struck a pose when it was necessary.

Skating with the kiddos last weekend. Nowadays, whenever I try and snap a photo of the three of them, I have to constantly shout out "act normal, act normal!" to that middle one.
