yo FUCK baby yoda we love baby appa in this house

oh. my. G O D.
this musical is a comedic masterpiece. i literally could not stop laughing the entire show (except for when i was crying during dead mom and home whoOPS). it was just as offensive and vulgar and hilarious as it should’ve been, and it did tim burton justice.
the set design. LET ME TELL YOU HOLY SHIT. the lighting was phenomenal, and it made you feel like it all wasn’t even real. there were strobe lights whenever the show started (in the opening and after intermission). the lightning was specifically amazing during Day-O, and oh my god i thought i was having a fever dream. when the house transformed, the set projectors and lights to quickly change the house into something else and the light were set so perfectly. also it’s crazy how fast they change the house! it went from the mainlands, to the deetzes, to beetlejuice and it was very impressive. and during that beautiful sound, the choreography was crazy! all the beetlejuices came literally out of nowhere and the way they did that was incredible.
the lightning before it started and during intermission was really cool too because there were lights set up everywhere in the theatre and they were projecting onto the ceiling and onto you and on the stage. it also made everything easier because you could actually see what was in front of you.
the jokes in show holy crap. this show is pretty offensive to politics and religion, and of course the innuendos never stop because he’s a pervert, but let me tell you every joke and swear and vulgar comment made the whole audience laugh so much! i was having the time of my life it was so funny.
i also met the cast! alex brightman was a sweetheart and he loves having actual conversations with the cast so we talked for a bit about if the show was improv and he said the entire show was all script, and that there were no on-the-go jokes hot DAMN i’ll give props to the writers of this show. he was super nice and connected to the fans. i also met kerry butler and i complimented her on her dressing room plants and she said that he grew her first tomato yesterday! good for her. and when i met leslie kritzer i told her i loved her day-o vlogs and that it was impressive when she fell out of her shoe during the show (during what i know now, her foot went through the strap of her shoe and she had to do the whole dance sequence with it strapped to her ankle!). rob mcclure was super nice and i also told him i loved the muppet videos with kerry on instagram and he started talking about how it grew to this running joke. dana steinfeld came out and of COURSE she was a sweetheart, and i couldn’t believe this grown adult could play such an innocent and high-pitched character. and presley ryan came out to! i congratulated her on her lydia debut.
over all, it was a well-played and hilarious musical and i really hope i can experience it again. it really did deserve the tony nominations.

I relate to Beetlejuice because I too-
am a trash rat
am flamboyant
am feral
want a singular friend
am straight from hell
am big sad
am “extra”
would murder someone without second thought

some of you have never hyperfixated on a show/franchise so hard that any mention of it in your vicinity sets you vibrating at the speed of sound and it shows
