Loaded question, because you assume these two options are the only ones possible and that all parents who didn’t vax their children were evil bastards.

Meanwhile, the chicken pox vaccine was not available in my country when I was being vaxed against similar diseases. What’s more, there was no way to get privately vaccinated those days.

Which us why, despite being cared for quite well (only got mumps in childhood), I still ended up catching adult chicken pox through my vaccinated daughter, who dragged it in from daycare.

Same. I had chicken pox when I was a kid, luckily for adult me, but I was vaccinated for everything else that had a vaccine available.

Most of the antivax movement here is recent and imported from the USA through christian conservative channels (and to a lesser extent the pseudo-natural health fad groups).
