This is AMAZINGGGGGGGGG
FINALLY the gravity falls fandom wakes up!!!!! This comic is EXACTLY what I’ve been needing rn! THANK YOU for your beautiful art OP!!
All the personalities are SO spot on
Gravity Falls X Reverse Falls crossover headcanon:
If Gravity Falls is a hot spot for the magical and weird, maybe Reverse Falls is the opposite. Completely devoid of magic… except for Will.
That would explain why the Gleefuls/Northwests need to capture him and drain his power, because they don’t have any of their own.
And… that would be very lonely for Will, to be the only person he knows of with magic. They’d probably make him feel like shit for it, too, use it as an excuse to call him a freak and other things. Maybe he’s not even a demon, and that’s just what they call him.
And then… if he ever got a chance to escape to Gravity Falls, imagine how it would feel to suddenly be able to call somewhere home where there were magical beings around every corner. Maybe he’d finally feel like he belongs.
If I had to say one thing I like about old original will it would be that he is pathetic, idk why but I really love pathetic will, but not to pathetic yk? I don't like people just treating him like a child and like he can't do anything for himself,
THIS! this is why i write old will. i miss him a lot and i feel like i’m the only one who remembers him :/
old will is just so… rescuable… he just needs someone to hug him and ground him and care about him when he’s hurt and i really like how vulnerable he can be as a character. he’s perfect hurt/comfort material
A post literally reminded me that if I ever want will cipher Merch I will have to make it myself or get it commissioned, cuz will is not a popular character and he's not even from an actual show 😭 Merch of him is practically non-existent
he’s such a weird character bc wdym he’s not even from a show. he’s just our hallucination that we love very much 🫶
I feel like nobody even tries to search for fanfic for niche fandoms after ChatGPT came out. Weird…
Gravity Falls Fancasting
When I interact with fandom for Gravity Falls, I'm not really picturing the animated show. I'm picturing this live action miniseries that happens like 10 years after the original plot. Everyone is older and everything is more small town gothic, more thriller, more "Stranger Things." Anyway this is what I'm picturing in my head when I'm reading/writing fic:
Lorenzo Zurzolo as Dipper Pines
Sophie Thatcher as Mabel Pines
Brandan Gleeson as Grunkle Stan
bonus:
Georgie Henley as young Mabel
...and Devon Bosnick as Robbie Valentino
a fandom doesn’t die because the source material ended btw. it only dies if fans stop talking about it. so it will always stay alive even if just one person still talks and is passionate about it.
support artists. comment nice things on their fics, leave kudos on their fics, like and reblog their art, engage with posts about your blorbo if you don’t want your fandom to die.
bbc merlin, house md, nbc hannibal have all ended for more than a decade and their fandoms are still as alive and active as ever. they literally trend here every other month. we can be like them <3
Im wondering what if Will met Bill? how would that interaction go…
Oh, god, I don’t know… Bill’s permanently dead in my Reverse Falls because I hate him, but in a hypothetical scenario where they DID meet… ooh. Angst, probably.
Depends on when and how they meet. If a canon-compliant Bill meets Will during captivity, he’d probably just help the twins hurt him. But if he’s like, fanon-tumblrsexyman Bill… he would also probably help hurt him, actually, unless he had some sort of personal conflict with that, like if his love interest was against the idea. He has that “complete asshole to anyone except The Special Love Interest” vibe about him that I loathe.
But yeah. It would probably just be Bill happily harassing and tormenting poor Will. Exploiting his insecurities, kicking him when he’s down… that sort of thing.
haha what i love small fandoms. i love rare fandoms. i love being in a virtually extinct fandom. i love being in a fandom that even tumblr doesn't post about anymore. i love being in a fandom where it's just me and like two other people. i love being in a fandom where those other two people are literally just myself and i. i love being in a fandom where it's just me talking to a wall. i love b
content: details about a character’s nsft thoughts about another character, implied to be sorta femdom in nature
Her thoughts wandered from her… and before she could catch them, they began forming images. In her mind’s eye— before she came to and shut it out— she saw Will. Will, twisted in bedsheets, pale limbs sprawled against white silk. He was facing down, away from her… she could see his neck, slick with sweat. Under her kiss, his skin was delicate, tender… sweet and soft to the touch. She bit into it gently, adoringly, recklessly, raw, indulging in the nectar of his pleasure. In her hands, his body was a ripe, dripping, beautiful fruit from the divine, from some ancient heaven…
The haze of it fizzled out swiftly. She caught her wandering thoughts and snuffed them out as quick as a candle flame chokes between two fingertips.
She didn’t know if he… would even want that. From her, no less. It was better not to think about it.

Tropes + CWs: temperature/weather whump, anticipation of abuse
Will tried not to mind the rain. It fell on him in sheets as he walked, soaked his clothes. Water began to pool on the darkening sidewalk— the clack of his dress shoes on the pavement turned into a wet tak tak tak sound soon enough.
He resisted the urge to run. That would draw attention. Thunder rumbled above him and it made him increasingly uneasy, but the most that he could allow himself was a brisker pace.
The storm, thick and grey, rolled forward and spread across the last strokes of color in the sky. Will shivered. He was just passing the big yellow birch tree and rounding the corner near the old outdoor rental shop… Fifteen minutes, he assured himself. Then he cast a nervous glance at his watch. The hour hand was approaching three. Better be there by then, anyway. He continued down his path, and then… remembering the encounter with Stanford he had had the afternoon before, his eyes went back to the watch. Will’s footsteps fell just a bit quicker. Maybe sooner…
Will tried not to mind the rain because soon, in the coming months, there would be snow. He would be wishing for the rain then.
He passed a few more buildings, interspersed between increasing distances. Then there were trees, and the sidewalk petered out into a weathered dirt ditch beside the road winding further up the mountain. Five minutes. Bracing against the cold, Will crossed his arms tighter against his torso and leaned forward in his gait. He clenched his jaw against its insistent chattering and pushed himself onward, up the incline.
Visible just over the trees, the Northwest manor glared at him from its elevated perch, which he finally spotted further up the road. Four minutes and thirty seconds.
He glanced behind him. No one was looking. No one in town could see him from here.
So Will lunged forward and broke into a run, throwing any reserve he once had to the wind. As he ran, his gaze flicked briefly up the road. He sent a silent prayer to a god he’d long lost faith in that no one was watching him from the manor’s tinted windows.

"Easy, Easy, it's Okay,"
When Caretaker opened the door, cold air hit them in the face. Caretaker took their time scanning the cell; their eyes examining the metal bars that allowed the frigidness to enter and the concrete walls that added to Caretaker's feeling of disgust. Nothing in there gave hints of human life, and yet...
Caretaker gasped and almost dropped their gun when they saw a chain connected to the wall that disappeared into a small, human body shivering.
A shaky breath leaves Caretaker as they slowly approach; holstering their weapon when they let their knees hit the ground. "Hey, um, I'm Caretaker. Can you turn over for me? Please?"
Whumpee gave no indication of hearing them, so Caretaker knelt with hesitant hands hovering inches away. "I can...turn you over? If you're unable?"
Caretaker's heart sank when Whumpee let out a high-pitched whine from their warm hand settling on their shoulder.
"Easy, easy, it's okay." Caretaker wrapped his arm around Whumpee's body and pulled him into his lap for more warmth.
Whumpee immediately relaxed in Caretaker's hold and started sobbing from relief.
"Sh sh, I know, I know, it's all alright now." Caretaker started rocking and rubbing Whumpee's back. "You're safe."

I love Reverse Falls :)
Also the nostalgia goes crazy

sorry but you cannot tell me that pacifica's goth-curious phase isn't jumpstarted by this exact song and video. she finds this shit at age 12 and it changes the trajectory of her life irreversibly and forever
A gentleman gives up her jacket
takes place 10 years post-canon
“It’s always the right amount of cold here,” Pax said.
Will hummed in response, noncommittal.
“I mean… cold like refreshing. Cold enough to feel, I dunno, cozy. But not cold enough to make you want to go back inside immediately. You know?”
Will opened his mouth to reply, but his teeth started to chatter, cutting him off. Quickly, he hugged his arms to his torso, trying to get them to lie still.
“Oh.” Pax’s eyes went wide, worried. “God, yeah, guess you get cold easier than me, huh?” Her hands hovered over his arms— they drew near, then jerked slightly back, then forward again, like she was unsure whether to grab him. Instead, she went to peel off her jacket. What is she… “Here,” Pax said, extending her arm. Her jacket dangled in front of him.
Will blinked. Why would she want him to hang up her jacket? She might not be cold now, but she will be if she takes it off…
Pax was rambling, he realized; he tuned in: “—might not fit you. Well, I don’t know—maybe? Might be a little short in the arms… but it’ll keep you a little warmer than that cotton shirt.” She was looking at him earnestly, almost pleading.
Will wasn’t sure what it was, but suddenly the wind felt a bit less biting. Warmer. He hadn’t realized he’d stopped breathing, until he tried to say something and it came out choked and stifled. He swallowed and tried again. “Um…” His eyes darted from Pax’s insisting gaze to the jacket, still hanging there between them, and then back at Pax. Some cocktail of confusing feelings swirled in him, gagged him. Then there was the growing anxiety that he was taking too long, that he was squandering her patience with all his gaping and stuttering. Say something, he urged himself, but nothing came.
“It’s okay. Really.” She prodded him with it, gently. “I’m fine, I won’t be too cold. Besides, I’m the one who brought you out here, right?”
He felt the soft scratch of the denim as she lowered it to his open palms. Gingerly, he looked down at it, felt the fabric between his fingers. It was rough on the outside, the way denim is, but on the inside it was soft… lined with thick flannel. The jacket was heavyweight. Structured. Reassuringly sturdy… like her. “Thank you,” he said, finally, a little breathless. He lifted his head and found her eyes again. He hoped she could see in his face somehow how much it meant to him, if he couldn’t say it with words.
Masterlist for The Rift Between Rivers
a whump, hurt/comfort, torture/rescue, healing romance, post-canon fic
I just feel like Pacifica would eventually grow up to be a very different person than who she was as a twelve year old, like we see in the show.
It would make sense for a character with her background to have that kind of trajectory— her parents are obviously over-the-top controlling, and you don’t have to read between the lines too much to glean that, at the very least, Pacifica curates and censors her personality and appearance in order to “fit in” with her family and the expectations set on her. Generally speaking, people who grew up like that (especially those who become more self-aware, as Pacifica did in the Northwest Mansion Mystery episode) tend to turn into rebelling teenagers and then, finally, after some experimenting, they figure out who they really are.
We know that bullies are typically just insecure about the things they judge others for. The fact that Pacifica is so fixed on putting Mabel down for being “the weird girl” tells me that “being the weird girl” is probably a huge secret fear of Pacifica’s.
It would make sense to me if Pacifica’s true self is in direct opposition to who her parents are. And who are her parents? Pretentious liars, yeah, but more than that, they represent the epitome of heteronormativity. Comically, cartoonishly so. Hell, her mom was literally won as a prize in a boating competition, and her face has so much botox injected into it that she almost doesn’t fit the art style of the show. Naturally, being a symbol of extreme heteronormativity, her mom is hyperfeminine, which she clearly expects and forces Pacifica to emulate as well.
And if Pacifica’s idea of “weird” is informed by her parents’ worldview, well. I think being gender nonconforming would be the “weirdest” and scariest thing of all to her caricature parents.
