“Officer, there have been rumors going around that a couple of teenagers have recently been attacked in the forest at the edge of town, are these true? Do you have any information you can tell the news at this time?” The reporter on screen asks the Chief Officer or Silverhaven.
If it were any other day, you would be laughing hysterically, attacks in the town on Silverhaven? Unbelievable. But sitting in the dark mansion in the forest was somewhere you and your friends never thought you’d end up last night - but alas here you were. Life did funny things, a couple of days ago you wouldn’t have believed anything supernatural existed, let alone vampires. Well, you were wrong - and the bite mark on your neck is painful proof that you weren’t hallucinating.
Sighing, you turn off the television and get up off the comfortable couch of the family room to find something interesting to do, thankfully, your captor 一 Yoongi 一 has been awfully welcoming and relatively pleasant to be around. You found the mansion oddly calming in a way, not that you had anything to truly have your standards high, you hope life sucked. Your parents fought constantly, for multiple reasons - money, jobs, the house, - everything and soon enough you spent more time in college and your friends’ houses than your bedroom.
Snapping yourself out of your daydreaming you walk around the house trying to find something interesting to put your mind at ease - surely there must be something in this house worthwhile. The only unfortunate thing about living here is you never know if you’ll be able to leave, or when if the chance arises - not like you’d live leaving either.
“Ah, Y/N! I’ve been looking for you! Are you alright? Since you’ve come here you’ve seemed a bit… uncomfortable. I know what happened is saddening so if there’s anything I can do to make it better - I promise I’ll see to it.” Yoongi says from the ceiling, how did he even get up there? You and yourself, honestly you shouldn’t be surprised - Yoongi’s immortal, and extremely good looking, also smart, and doesn’t look a day over 25. And to be honest, he really couldn’t do anything, you could see your friends but they seem a lot more on edge about the situation than yourself which is understandable considering how stable their lives seem to be.
“No, Yoongi. Honestly, I find it eerily calming in the mansion. It’s quiet, and to be frank - beautiful in here. I love it.” You compliment the house, it’s a bit creepy - yes, but beautifully architected, with high pillars, velvet red drapes, and an extremely well kept botanical garden. None of the windows seem shattered, and the doors aren’t falling off their hinges as you had expected, the lights all work and the water is warm for showers. The only explanation you came to was that Yoongi had kept up with renovations and repairs throughout his immortality.
“I’m glad you’re at ease, Y/N. I hate to keep guests uncomfortable - or in the mansion for too long. Unless they want to stay that is. But I wouldn’t understand why.” He tells you, smiling a bit at your fascinated gaze around your surroundings. Truthfully, Yoongi hasn’t had somebody in the mansions for years, and he has a sneaking suspicion you’ve grown fond of the place just as he had when he was younger. Your friends, on the other hand, might need a bit more convincing to stay. Although if they demanded their freedom, Yoongi would let them go - no questions asked. They only thing he would wonder is if you would go with them or join him in the mansion.
It wouldn’t matter to him either way - someday he would find the soulmate that would stay with him until they get staked in the heart by fate. Hopefully, you would be the one the Gods chose for him. And if you weren’t then he would just need to find someone that was, although, he has come to the realization he can’t keep attempting to lure people in and he would need to leave the house to not seem suspicious someday.
“Yoongi? Are you alright? You seemed a bit off in your world for a couple of minutes there.” You tell him worriedly, looking into his grey eyes - a bit clouded over but nothing alarming from what you can tell. Waving your hand in front of his eyes until he seems back to earth you let out a small giggle from his confused state before he shows a small smile that you want to see more of.
“Sorry, yeah I’m fine - just a little daydream but nothing serious. Um… Are you hungry by any chance? I know I’m starving.” He asks you, as your eyes light up with fear - when Yoongi originally brought you and your friends to the mansion, you had all been attacked by another group of vampires who lived in a neighbouring town not too far from Silverhaven.
“No, no, not like that. I don’t drink human blood - at least not right from the source. I get blood bags from a couple of friends, don’t worry, you and your friends are safe with me, although I don’t think they get that memo as much as you do,” he jokes to you, grabbing a bag from the freezer. “Go grab your friends and decide on some food, I’m not a half-bad cook in my opinion.” He tells you, shooing you off to their respective rooms.
Getting into their rooms was easy enough, they trust you. Getting them out was the real struggle, they still seemed a bit uneasy about the food, asking questions like “what if he poisons it”, or “we don’t even know if this guy wants to kill us or not” as well as many other valid points, but once you finally got them out and they had chosen on pancakes they seemed relatively calm. And Yoongi wasn’t wrong that is cooking skills were good the pancakes were amazing.
The rest of the day when by quickly, eating some 5-star cooking from your vampire friend, learning more about vampires and everything that comes with them, exploring the house, and helping your friends become more quarantined with Yoongi. The night ended peacefully, whishing Yoongi goodnight, and somehow you slept soundly through the night with dreams of Yoongi plaguing your thoughts.
You had been awoken by the sound of bacon sizzling on the frypan downstairs, and the mouth-watering smell of waffles and eggs drifting throughout your room. When you make your way down the spiraling grand staircase - another favourite in the house - the light pours in through the windows as Yoongi cooks in silence, some of your friends’ lounge around reading old magazines and watching reruns of Law and Order SVU. They all bid you good morning as you calmly set plates down for everyone.
“I didn’t even ask you but you still read my mind. Thanks, Y/N.” Yoongi says, while also plating the bacon. You all gather around the table, plating eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit before eating and exchanging small talk. It seems like your friends have finally started warming up to your pale friend and you are thankful, you didn’t know how long you’d be here - or if you’d ever be leaving - so your happy that they can enjoy his company.
“So how long have you been living here for, Mr. Vamps?” Sunmi asks Yoongi. You’ve been waiting for this question, also wondering the same thing, the house seems centuries old and so does Yoongi but you didn’t want to come off as rude the first couple nights you were in the house. The rest of your friends lean in with curiosity evident in their eyes - including your own.
“Oh, um. At least a century now, I stopped keeping track after forty-something years honestly. But thankfully I’ve been able to keep the house in good condition.” He answers honestly, you’re scared for the next question, knowing it could be uncalled for or Sunmi would leave the conversation at that. She nods at the answer, seeming unphased with his reply.
“Meaning you could’ve probably done this to dozens of different victims, maybe you leave their dead bodies in your basement.” She convicts him, accusing him of multiple different crimes in one sentence - a big claim for someone who could get her head cut off easily and within a matter of seconds.
“Actually, I’ve let most of my visitors go, as well as unharmed. I see no point in keeping people here if they don’t like it - I’m simply looking for a soulmate, and since my necklace works off the magic surrounding the forest I can only go so far into the town without burning my ass off.” He tells her calmly, like this was a normal question on a normal day for a normal vampire, while there were many things wrong with this conversation.
“So if we asked to leave, you’d allow us?” Irene asks softly like she was scared of the answer.
“Of course, if that’s what you all wanted - although that would be a shame - I do enjoy your company, I haven’t had many people be this talkative with me in centuries.” The man retorts simply, making both Irene and Sunmi raise their brows in surprise.
“May I leave then? I miss my family dearly and as much as I thank you for the hospitality over the past weeks, I think that I should be getting home so the police and my family don’t get worried.” Irene asks politely, Sunmi seconds her in the decision - saying that she wants to leave a bit more than she really should. ‘
“Of course, if you want - once we finish breakfast I can walk you back personally - although there are some rules you’ll both need to agree to.” He tells then before taking another forkful of egg.
“And what might these so-called “rules” be, Drac?” Sunmi asks him, calling him another vampire-like nickname for the umpteenth time this morning. Irene also leans in to catch his words.
“I’ll need to wipe your memories from you entering the forest to you leaving it when you enter the town again. I’ll also need you to make a backstory which I’ll provide you with to tell the police when they realize your back home - I’ll provide with that. And once you knock into another vampire, if you ever do, all your memories will come back so I urge you not to enter the forest again.” He explains to the two college students and they both nod in understanding before finishing their plates and heading upstairs to talk about everything.
“Will you two be joining them? If you do, I understand your choice.” Yoongi asks you and Mino. You look at each other before he nods his head was and you mutter a small “yes” as an answer. You see his face fall slightly before he gains composure and explains the rules to you. Mino joins the two girls upstairs and then it’s just you and Yoongi.
“I’m sad to see you go, Y/N. But I do understand your reasoning, and I’ll be thinking about you a lot more often than I should.” He tells you, reaching his hand out to interlace your fingers with his. You look up and see his beautiful eyes boring into your own irises.
“I won’t be gone for long, I’ll be coming back - I promise - I’m just making sure that Sunmi and the others don’t think you’re forcing me to stay here for some odd reason. I have a plan, plus I think I might lo-” “Hey, Y/N, you ready to go soon?” Mino interrupts you, as you and Yoongi break your hands apart.
“Uh, yeah I’ll be right there, just have to make the bed. Thank you again Yoongi for letting my friends and I stay here.” You say to him before making your way up the stairs and into your old room. He replies with a quiet “you’re welcome” before helping your friends get ready to leave.
He honestly didn’t think you leaving him would be that depressing, but now that he knows you’ll be leaving - even if it’s for the time being - has him worried that you’ll like it back in town again and will realize how much better that life is for yourself. Part of him knows you should live with other humans, it’s in your DNA to enjoy your own species’ company, but the other side of him wants you to stay by his side until your both resing peacefully in coffins six feet under. Sighing, he opens the front door for the four of you before locking it and walking you home - before you leave the forest, he explains how the memory wipe will go.
“Everybody understands?” He asks the group of you. He knows you won’t be leaving for very long but he’ll still have to wipe your memories and find a way to lure you back in. Taking a deep breath, he starts with Sonmi and Irene, making them completely forget before Mino shelves them into Silverhaven and they start making their way home.
“Mino, Y/N, it’s your turn, I’ve already explained so you all understand how this works,” he tells you both before starting with Mino. You watch as he works in silence, focused on Mino and only Mino, somewhat unaware if creatures were hiding in the shadows. You look around, feeling a slight unease creep up your spine and settles into your brain, anxiety settling into your skull. Then, you see it, a pair of red eyes in the distance, watching Mino slowly become unaware before you push him into Silverhaven just like Sunmi and Irene.
“Hey, Y/N.” Yoongi greets as you walk up to him.
“Hey, Yoongi. Not to cut this short, but I think we have a couple of guests.” You say, gesturing to the multiple pairs of red or grey eyes watching you. He nods in understanding before your ongoing watchers decide to strike. He shields you behind himself before latching onto a tree far away from the others reach and starting to fight with eased strength and speed. He all but missed one, who pushes you down from the tree - bearing his teeth and preparing to rip into your open neck.
“Run!” Yoongi yells at you once he pushes your attacker off and shoves you into Silverhaven - your memories still intact. Go, he mouths at you before returning to the ongoing brawl, you know he’ll wait for you, and if he doesn’t then you haven’t known him as much as you think you have.
You don’t know how long you ran for, all you know is by the time you finish your heaving for air and your legs beg for relief. You’re roughly in the outskirts of town - where you deem the magical border cuts off and Yoongi starts going off of his magic instead of the forests. It’s silent - just a bit later than 8 am, and you so desperately want to go back to Yoongi, to help him but you know it’s impossible - vampires are stronger, quicker, and probably wiser than any human. You don’t know how long it’ll take for Yoongi to find you, but you do know there’s a hotel nearby that you could probably stay at if you go home and get some cash to pay for a couple of weeks until you see the pale man again.
Days go by, maybe weeks. Day after day you wait for Yoongi at the border of Silverhaven to see his face, but nothing ever comes. It’s been almost three weeks and you haven’t seen him since the attack. The bite mark on your neck has healed fully, and your life has gone somewhat back to normal, you told the police the same story you overhead Yoongi tell Sunmi, Irene, and Mino, and you’ve started going back to classes and hanging out with friends when you can, but you still live in the hotel at the edge of town.
“Today’s the last day I’m going. If not it just means everything was a complete lie, and that h played me like a game.” You tell yourself aloud in your hotel room. You make yourself breakfast and get ready to head into the forest, it’s been three weeks and if it’s not safe in that forest it probably never will be. Putting on your coat and leaving the hotel room you grab your wallet, phone, some money, and any other necessary items you might need.
When you reach the forest, you take a deep breath before entering, knowing once you get in deep you’ll need to run to the mansion. Oddly enough, you remember where it is in the forest and once you take off in a run - your legs wouldn’t stop moving until they reached the mansion. You don’t bother to knock, you walk right in, and are greeted by Yoongi sitting on the steps, head in his hands and quiet sobs falling from his mouth.
You don’t think he even heard you come in, but when you lean down and grab his wrists he looks up to see your face and pulling you into a hug. His sobs quiet down to nothing within seconds and you’re in an uncomfortable position on the stairs but you wouldn’t change it for a second.
“I- I didn’t think you’d come back. I tried to send you letters and notes to know that I’m okay but they never made it to your town I suppose. But I- I can’t believe you’re finally here, with me,” he sobs into your neck, and you can feel the tears running down your skin. You stay like this for a couple of minutes, letting him get ahold of his emotions before he realizes your uncomfort and moves around so you’re both a bit more comfortable.
“Of course I’d come back - I did say that, didn’t I? I never break a promise, even if it’s to an old vampire who kinda kidnapped my friends and almost got me killed.” You say jokingly, making him smile through his tears. When he finally has a full grasp of his emotions again he gets up and starts cooking for you.
“Yoongi, not even ten minutes ago you were crying in my arms on the stairs, and now your cooking for me? Let me do something, honestly.” You scold him before taking a place on his right side and helping him cook for a bit. When the food is finally done, you both sit down and talk about whats happened over the past three weeks. It pains you to know he’s been crying a lot because of your absence, and when you ask him how to fix it he says that you’re already doing so by coming back to him.
Days go by with Yoongi - actually, months and you do see your friends every now and then but most of your time is spent with Yoongi. He’s gotten a better hold on himself and goes out a lot more often than he used to, and as much as you hate to admit it - you’ve fallen for him, hard. You know you want to spend eternity with him, you just don’t know if he’ll turn you into a vampire. But, there’s really no harm in trying at this point.
“Yoongi?” You call out to him, he seemed a bit dazed during dinner tonight.
“Hmmm?”
“I wan to become a vampire.” You tell him, no point in beating around the bush - you’re not demanding he does so, you’re just setting him straight so he knows what you want.
“So why didn’t you say so sooner? Babe, I’ve been wanting to hear those words come from you since you left.” He says before kissing you, both hands grasping your cheeks and he’s practically lifting you up. Grabbing your waist, he hoists you up so your feet aren’t touching the floor, and you can’t help but let a little giggle against his lips at his strength. He smiles into the kiss, and you can’t help but fall even deeper in love with him.
“I love you, so much Y/N.” He mumbles against your lips, making you break out into a smile.
“I love you too, Yoongi - for eternity.”
“For eternity,” he repeats. “Now, I say we turn you into an immortal being, so you and I can cause chaos together for the next couple of centuries, yeah?” He says, a rhetorical question - he knows how much you want this, he can feel it in your veins.
It painful, the feeling of being turned into a vampire. The pain sears through your skin and makes it feel like your getting stabbed but it’s not actually piercing, getting impaled over and over again but the pain is constant. When the pain stops, he eases your tears until you’ve stopped crying, and urges you to go to sleep to minimize the pain.
Oddly enough, the next few days are painless - you did have to die once to make sure you were a vampire and drink some human blood, but other than that everything was normal enough. The bite mark healed within a day, which was much quicker than you expected, and you’re thankful for the quick skin repair. Yoongi also taught you some self-defense and how to use your speed and strength to your advantage if anyone ever decided to attack you.
Life goes on relatively normal - you get a necklace like Yoongi’s so you can go outside in the light and visit your friends every now and then like usual, you can still eat human food although it isn’t necessary, and you don’t need to have many blood bags, only one or two every other month. Knowing you and Yoongi can stay together forever is amazing, and you couldn’t be happier, sometimes you do fight because you want to keep your independence but other than that you’re a pretty good couple, and although it is a bit quick, you’ve already talked about marriage and adoption since vampires can’t have children.
“What’s going on in that pretty head, babe?” Yoongi asks you, throwing his arm over your shoulders to pull you closer to him. He’s been worried about you, the transition on vampire puts a lot of stress on someone and it seems to be going too smoothly for you.
“Oh nothing, just how you became a vampire, or if you were born one or something like that.” You ask him curiously, Yoongi hasn’t really opened up about himself in a while and you’ve been wondering the same question over and over again for a couple of months now. The only reason why you refrained from asking was because it might be a touchy subject for him.
“Ahhh, course, I never actually told you. My father made this house for our family when we moved to Sliverhaven back in 1763 when it was founded. So I’ve been living here for quite some time.” He explains to you. It’s understandable - Yoongi is old, almost 240 years old, and counting.
“So, how does it feel to know your immortal?” He asks you, looking into your eyes - which have slowly started to turn grey like his, with a hint of your old eye colour to keep the human version of you remembered. You smile softly at his features before answering his question.
“Not that different, I’m sure after a while it’ll feel weird when we’re centuries-old but look as young as we did when we met.” You answer simply, smiling up at him before shifting in his lap a bit.
“Speaking of travelling, where would you like to go first? We can go practically anywhere.” He tells you, sparking your interest. There are so many places you want to go - France, Australia, Russia, Poland, honestly anywhere.
“There are so many places, and this might sound cheesy but honestly, wherever you are is where I want to be - but Hawaii does sound pretty nice during winter.” You joke, nudging his side a bit before smiling up at him. Yoongi internally smirks, reminding himself to buy plane tickets for the week of Christmas
“Hawaii does sound pretty nice.” He says before kissing you.
Hawaii, here come.
