Meet the Artist!

Oh geez, since I haven't posted on here in a HOT minute, allow me for proper introductions. <3

I'm Lex, an Illustrator + Concept Artist in the US. I've been a freelance artist for a few years. I typically go for fantasy-driven content and derive myself in video games, such as Dragon Age, and many more. If those of you remember me, I was a bit into the Arcana back then and one of my popular posts on there is still getting love which, I appreciate a lot! Currently on the BG3 + DA + whatever i'm interested in nowadays.

I post frequently on my Patreon for spicy content and other things too for those who would like to see it.

Made a silly Reference sheet for my narrator so I can color pick/ and make sure I keep consistency with my design (SOME PARTS ARENT WHICH IS OKAY ITS MAINLY FOR ME TO USE WHEN DRAWING)

I definitely want to doodle them more as I see potential in their wardrobe.. YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!1 Had a lot of fun with this one.. MAYHAPS I MIGHT GIVE MORE INFO ON THEM IN ANOTHER POST... We'll see! :D

P.S. SOME DESIGN ELEMENTS AREN'T THERE, (ex. Watch hands, Butterfly bow dots) This is mainly because I'm likely gonna do a separate sheet with more in detail drawings of what I want it to look like, For now The left drawing Has All Their design elements that i see them having :D)

I find it's crazy how people say Halsin is boring or "flat." I guess you need to actually have him in your party to get to know him, especially in act 3, not just through his dialogues with other characters along the story. Personally the thing that made me go "woah, this character actually rules in depth" is his self questioning.

It's rare to find a solid character in a role of leadership—as he was for centuries—with the nobility and self-criticism of reaching a point of "Am I doing this wrong? have I been wrong all this time?"

Cause when you reach act 3 and he starts wondering if the Shadow Druids were kinda right all along, man, that's something big for a benevolent-coded Archdruid.

There is so much on his character to expand, the dude has an immense capacity for tenderness, but also to be literally terrifying—and if you put your creativity in the game, even "sadistic with purpose."

Halsin is a good man, aware that senseless kindness is a waste of time, and he learned that the hard way.

I just think characters like Halsin and Blackwall should look a little more like sumo wrestlers and a lot less like shredded, 0% body fat, dehydrated Marvel superheroes.

But maybe that's just me. 🤷‍♀️

One of the (many) things I adore about Halsin is the way we affect him. As he says, he's been around a long time, had numerous lovers...but we get his heart pounding? He was so nervous about us rejecting him when he confesses? And when he accidentally transforms during the romance scene, he thinks he's ruined this moment with us that he's been dreaming about for so long?

And I'm trying to remember exactly what he said...it's in Moonrise right after you beat Ketheric.

"And I'm glad to be had- glad to be with you, I mean."

This may have nothing to do with what I said above, but I dunno. It stuck out for some reason. He's quick to correct himself, and it sounds like he's trying to play it cool. Trying not to reveal his feelings just yet.

He's just so cute sometimes.

Concept and colour: @hijennyt I posted a full write down on instagram, but basically... Earlier this year I peer pressured lovingly commissioned my talented friends to animate my dragon age fanart. This started as an experiment in building a small, indie style pipeline for fan projects. While I couldn’t find enough animators to fully finish what I had in mind, what did come together, I absolutely loved.

Edit to add: in a time where ai slop has been becoming more prevalent, I think collabs are a way to combat it.

If you love the animation please check out the animators, they are incredible and gave me a fairytale moment that went way polished than it had to. I'm also still keen to do future animation experiments, so if you know of any available experienced anime styled animators hit me up.
