Ask yourself: what’s good about this moment right now? Is the sun out? Can you hear birds? Are you drinking coffee? Can you smell freshly cut grass? Is your bed soft and warm? These little things are oh so precious and yet seem so arbitrary.
take some time to reflect on how much you’ve grown over the last few months, in any way, whether you started going to therapy, got a new job, gained new interests, finished your exams, started journaling, or even became more empathetic towards yourself. remind yourself that growth is always there, and that it doesn’t need to be incredibly life-changing to hold significance. you are growing in every way; and these things often lead to very bright things.
Life Transition
I feel nervous, but excited for this next step. It’s a step i’ve felt strongly about, but too proud to admit
Van Life is beautiful, but it’s not when you are constantly struggling. I just want to build a life for myself that I enjoy, and the stress that was induced once I decided to live in a van just overpowered me. It was exhausting, difficult, heartbreaking, and empowering in all sorts of ways.
The ideal life I envision for myself is living in a tiny house on a property somewhere in Arizona or Colorado. I want to live in this quiet house with my partner, dogs, cats, and everything I could ever need. I also want to have more than one business and want to find ways to earn what I deserve and what I need to thrive and be my best self. I envision myself doing yoga, practicing health and wellness, traveling by plane to fun places for work, and spending every weekend outdoors on bikes, snowboards, kayaks.
To get to this point I envision I need to do a lot of things before then. First would be selling our van, investing in more and finding new ways to make money. We can even make good connections in colorado and get ourselves known in the outdoor world there. I think we should live at Molly’s house to save money and build more vans to save for our big tiny house project. While we are living there i’ll get a gym membership and find a yoga studio. We can even grab an office space at wework in denver to help us get out of the house and get stuff done.
I am worried about what that means for our business and what we've grown so far, but I think if we continue to share our life people will still follow along with us. I think we can realistically make 10,000 a month from our business alone, if we continue to put ourselves out there and make an effort. We’ll be able to save for our dreams while spending time in a beautiful place to call home for a bit. Colorado just feels right to me, and maybe I just am nervous to be stable at a house for fear of boredom, but thats nonsense because I can go anywhere I wish to.
Here’s what gets to me most right now. What do I want to be doing? What do i need to feel fulfilled. One sign was yesterday during the bikeride I felt a wave of happiness and joy that I loved. I think I need to spend more time outdoors, exercising at the gym, practicing yoga, and making art. I don’t think I want to do branding in our business, but I will give it a try to make sure. I really want to start my own wellness blog and creating art and photography.
I just need to make things a priority and create a routine and I think i’ll be set on anything that comes my way.
The goal here is to create the life I want to live. I can have everything I want and MORE.
“So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow.”
Rainbow Rowell , Attachments (via goodreadss)
Even if you’re unemployed, even if you’re taking time off from school, even if nobody is calling and making plans with you, get out of bed, take a shower, put on clean clothes, wear some cologne or perfume, turn all the lights on, do some laundry, clean up a little bit.
Doing all this stuff causes a shift in your perspective. Do it in spite of your situation.
That’s the only way to create sustainable happiness, because if your behavior is dictated by your circumstances, you’re always going to be miserable. Don’t let the world determine your mindset. Let your mindset determine how you view the world.
Positive Thinking: What it Really Is
Positive thinking doesn’t mean denying that the negative stuff exists. It doesn’t mean pretending that the negative stuff doesn’t bother you. It doesn’t mean pasting on a fake smile when you really feel like frowning.
Positive thinking simply means making the conscious choice to focus on things that make you happy, rather than obsess about the things that don’t.
We all have negativity in our lives. We all have our personal challenges, fears, disappointments, and stressors. We all have things we’d like to improve about our lives.
But we also have plenty of wonderful things in our lives and in the world around us that we take for granted because we’re too busy complaining about the other stuff.
When it comes right down to it, your attitude is simply a habit, whether positive or negative. You are used to thinking about things in a certain way, so you continue doing that - even if it doesn’t serve you and makes you miserable.
Changing your attitude from negative to positive can create so many wonderful changes in your life, including stress reduction, easier healing, a greater sense of well-being, better relationships, better quality of sleep, greater success in whatever you do, and much more.
Even better, you don’t have to overhaul your entire attitude in one day to reap the benefits of a positive thinking practice. You simply have to start with one little thought at a time.
Choose a better thought whenever possible, and your attitude (and your life) will begin to transform.
The way you react has been repeated thousands of times, and it has become a routine for you. You are conditioned to be a certain way. And that is the challenge: to change your normal reactions, to change your routine, to take a risk and make different choices.

Everything heals. Your heart heals. Your mind heals. Wounds will heal. You may be sad right now, but your happiness will always come back. Bad times don’t last.

It’s that thing when you’re with someone and you love them and they know it and they love you and you know it but it’s a party and you’re both talking to other people and you’re laughing and shining and you look across the room and catch each other’s eyes. But not because you’re possessive, or it’s precisely sexual, but because that is your person in this life and it’s funny and sad but only because this life will end and it’s this secret world that exists right there. In public. Unnoticed. That no one else knows about. It’s sort of like how they say that other dimensions exist all around us but we don’t have the ability to perceive them. That’s what I want out of a relationship. Or just life, I guess.
