my 2 cents on the jenna situation: if you’re not asian you don’t get to decide whether or not she deserved it. the internet loves to pick and choose whose apologies they accept and whose they dont with little to no criteria for what constitutes an apology. if a youtuber fucks up and apologizes with a long typed out essay via tweet, they didnt care enough to take the time and apologize via video. if they make an apology video, it’s just for views and not genuine regardless of what’s said and promised in the video. you scream that people can change when someone finds old problems with someone you like, but when someone you dont is in the same situation, you want to see them burn. it’s not a fucking witch hunt. if somebody shows true change in their ways and makes a genuine apology, it’s not fair to say “people can change” is invalid. the world changed. half of the people screaming to tear people down for old actions that dont reflect who they are now weren’t even old enough to use a computer when the offending thing happened. the apologies should be made. the issues should be addressed. people should change. but if they do change, be consistent in accepting their growth so other problematic people will not fear a worse outcome if they change instead of keeping their ignorant audience. no, people should not expect acceptance when they make an apology. but if they see that they’re going to be torn down even if they change, they’re not going to change. they’re going to grow bitter and they’re going to disappear. stop calling every normal action of someone you don’t like problematic. stop letting the people you do like get away with ignorant actions because they’re “the only genuine, educated, and unproblematic people on the platform”. i’m sick of picking and choosing who gets executed. pick a side.

walks on the beach!!! i have some super nice Aesthetic Teen memories of stargazing and smoking on summer nights with friends but theres just something about the beach that makes me feel so at peace. i love the feeling of hot sun on my skin and the smell of ocean salt makes me n u t so yes beach for sure

i love that tumblr doesnt display following/followers so much??? it completely strips people of that idea of “presence” just because of their account and the whole concept of your interaction on the site is based on content. even though you see a whole lot less of people themselves, it just feels so much more personal???? and like for people who arent creators even though sometimes it can feel a little bit like talking to yourself when you make posts just talking about the thing you love and they dont rly get interaction but it just, doesnt matter, yknow? nobody’s looking at your note count. nobody knows how many people follow you or how many people follow you. it’s about creating a dashboard full of content you love. 

and when a creator does follow you it feels so real? you know it’s purely because there’s something about the things you have to say that makes them want to hear you. or maybe they want friends or just like the curation of what you collect and reblog. whatever the reason, it’s not so they get a follow back and grow their clout. 

as someone who has been around tumblr and social media since he was 11 years old and has always wanted to involve himself as a creator, it just feels nice??? i love writing but ive never felt inspired enough nor had the time or motivation to write fic (maybe if i got medicated for my adhd dreams would come true lmao). i love art but my focus in color work keeps me from creating traditional fanart and im completely at peace with it. im fine with not being a creator. tumblr’s layout keeps me from feeling pressured to make posts and have a presence. i can just collect things i love and say what i want to say. 

that being said, i really do love writing and i like to think im really good at it (i can post essays from class as proof lmao i just cant write fiction)! if you need a beta or know someone who needs a beta or would just be kind enough to give me a chance to beta your work i would love love love to do it like literally please give me the opportunity
