It’s wild to think about everything that was going on behind the scenes in Dan’s life that we didn’t know about, and how everyone continued to assume he was purposely holding things back and being indecisive, when really he was getting screwed over.

It’s also wild to think about the things he DID do just to please YouTube, and how he alsso managed to write a whole ass book in the middle of all of this.

All I can say is that I hope the one thing people take away from this is that life is messy and it doesn’t always go the way we want it to. It fucking sucks, but I hope that in the future certain drama blogs will find better things to do than to criticise people for things well out of their control.

i think we all would have understood if both dan and phil never uploaded a video again. their fans speculated on their relationship and sexualities for years before dan was ready to share that part of himself online. they got the bag, they could have dipped. but both of then genuinely love what they do, despite being completely fucked over by “fans” who were meant to support them and the company that supposedly cared for their creators. im really happy to see them both continue as creators, because even though they both owe their audience nothing, they still enjoy creating and interacting with those os us who genuinely support them.
