will update this when things are released, however i’d like to get some threads with people sehoon also hasn’t threaded with yet as a priority !! though i’m not opposed to threading with anyone who he’s already threaded with, so if you’re interested like this or comment and i’ll message you !!
“of course! the choreographies for some of the songs are very powerful yet upbeat. you would have to do a good job controlling your breath with some of those performances. it’s partially why i think you would suit well with jack because his role is quite demanding.” aeri reasoned as she glanced at him from top to bottom. “and seeing that you work out so often, i guess you can put it to the test to see how you can handle this musical.” she gave a cheeky smile before laughing at her words.
agreeing with sehoon’s comment, aeri thought about the scene even more as she skimmed through the dialogue. reading through the dialogue reminded her of the details about the scene that she had long forgotten. but as she was reading through it, she remains quiet as she thought about his question. “i don’t know how the other actresses would answer that, but…” she paused, thinking that this was her chance to show off how much she’s learned from sehoon. “…on the script it says that you could almost see her blush.” she pointed towards the section she was looking at and then back at him. “but to me, i think it was probably a moment when she realized that there was more to him than what she saw initially. it was as if… she saw a glimpse of who he truly was?” she continued to look at sehoon a bit longer before she began overthinking over her words. in an attempt to stop her overthinking, aeri suggested, “umm, let’s run through this scene. we’re already at one of the scenes and it’s better than finding the kissing scene one.”
sehoon’s eyebrows raise slightly in surprise at aeri’s response, nodding slowly as he processed the information. he had sort of forgotten about the whole controlling his breath while performing, because the previous musicals weren’t as upbeat and powerful as newsies was, so that would be something that he would have to focus on a lot, especially as he had a lead role this time. and he had to improve on his singing still, and he knew that this would be an important time to improve as much as he could. “you think i suit jack’s role?” sehoon asked, a curious and happy tone to his voice. he couldn’t help but laugh back, corners of his lips curved upwards.
sehoon’s eyes drop to the script, scanning it like it was something to do, and like it was a distraction from continuing to look at aeri. he felt like he was doing it a little too much and he didn’t want her to notice too much. he glances at the section that aeri was pointing at, eyes scanning the part and raises his head again when she begins speaking, locking his eyes with hers. he nods, smiling softly. “well, it sounds like despite their relationship at the start, spending time together whether she wanted to or not meant she saw those different sides of him, started getting closer to him.” he responds, smiling at her for a few long moments before nodding quickly, clearing his throat. “you’re right. we can come to that... another time. this scene is good.”
“yeah, it might not be my favorite musical but i was really impressed with the cast and storyline.” aeri paused, thinking quickly about a scene that still resonated with her even until now. “the choreography for this musical is incredible really. i remembered watching it and thinking about how much stamina the actors and performers would need just to do all of that. but…” aeri trailed off, for she was tempted to reference one particular scene to see sehoon’s reaction, but she opted to go with something else. “one of our scenes that i liked was at the beginning…” she flipped through the earlier pages and shows the page number to sehoon for him to look at. “jack takes the newsprint and pencil and sketches a portrait of katherine while she’s watching the show. it’s cute because as the viewer, you can tell that it’s probably one of the early signs that he’s genuinely interested in her.”
as she looks towards him, she gives a sheepish smile as she continues on, “then when he leaves, katherine takes it and sees the beautifully drawn portrait.” her mind instantly thinks about how the two would have to reenact the same scene she’s describing, which causes her to struggle a bit to figure out what to say afterwards. but what she says isn’t exactly what she really wanted to express as she told him, “just make sure that you don’t draw something funny on the paper, okay? i might break out of character once i see it.” she laughed as she gently nudged his arm. “as for the flirting… i’ll help you with that.” aeri stopped abruptly before turning her attention towards their script. “i mean… i’ll have to help you anyways since we’re going to have to rely on each other more than before.”
sehoon nods, smiling softly at aeri as she speaks. honestly, he was glad he had her, glad that she was there, glad that he wasn’t alone. he glances at her, head tilted in investment and interest. “they used a lot of stamina for it?” he asks, surprised by the sudden news and he wants to know more. honestly, he wasn’t as knowledged on the musical as aeri was, so it was intriguing to hear some of the things that he was finding out. but, he couldn’t deny that the thought crossed his mind, about whether he could use this as a more secure way to spend time with her too. his eyes grow more focused, watching her flick through the pages and he follows her, turning to the same page and scans it. his head snaps back up as she finishes talking, his mouth dropping open and forming a small o shape. “that’s.. sweet. so, it sounds like she really.. put him in gear, huh?”
the way aeri was describing it was sending sehoon’s mind reeling, thoughts of the fact that this would be them, that they would have to re-enact all of these scenes, portray the same feelings and emotions. what a time to end up in this position, when sehoon himself was figuring out his feelings for the female. “... how does katherine take him leaving?” sehoon questions, his voice a little quieter, thumb tracing over the paper. he chuckles softly, breaking out from the sheepish little moment he was stuck in. “well, i can’t exactly draw as well as jack, but i’ll try my best. can’t say it won’t look bad though, so that might make you laugh.” he says, corners of his lips stuck upwards as he watches her laugh, eyes flicking down moments later. “yeah.. how about .. we run the scirpt together? our scenes, at least. just.. speak the lines so we get use to it?”
today was script reading day and while the past few instances weren’t too bad for her, aeri felt that this time was even more nerve-wracking. aeri felt as if she was being watched by so many people as she tries everything she could to avoid flipping through the middle or near end of their script (because she doesn’t want to end up accidentally on a page talking about their kissing scene, but this was her clearly overthinking). luckily, she’s on the page that has katherine’s solo song and she re-reads through it once again before looking up at sehoon. “yeah,” she responds but the second she hears her voice, aeri’s already imagining the first kissing scene (and supposedly the most impactful one because it’s her that initiates it).
“i mean, i saw it when they were having the korean adaptation of the musical years ago. i went with some friends because one of them was a huge fan of the actor who played jack kelly.” she paused to look down at her script. “you fit his character quite well actually.” aeri added in an attempt to compliment him, but when she sees one particular line from ‘watch what happens’, she blurted out, “…okay, maybe not the whole ‘flirt, a complete ego maniac’ part because you’re not, but definitely the part about being the face of the strike that can save everyone in the musical.” she chuckled, hoping it would bring some lightheartedness to their conversation.
he hopes it’s not just him who’s feeling a little nervous, a little shy and on edge since the realisation of what they would both have to do, and sehoon was trying his damn best to keep his mind straight and not let his thoughts to running a little wild. he glances at aeri every now and then, stealing glances at her and then quickly averting his gaze in case she caught him or anybody else did too. yet when she looks up at him, his eyes widen a little, but he lets his face relax before he replies. he nods when she replies, waiting for her to speak on more about it. it had been a hot minute since sehoon had seen it, so he was definitely in for some catching up.
“really?” sehoon questions, surprised by the statement but finds it intriguing. “did you enjoy it when you went to see it?” he asked, fisting the paper a little tighter as he tries to get his thoughts under control - she had seen it before, so she knows about the kiss. well, kisses. the corners of his lips curve upwards at the next statements that next flew from her mouth and he chuckles softly. “yeah, maybe i’ll have to work on the whole flirting, ego maniac thing first.” he looks at her, nodding.
after auditioning for the musical, sehoon honestly wasn’t quite sure whether he would even be considered for a lead role. he had never had a lead role before, and he wasn’t the best singer of everyone who auditioned either, so it was a tough outcome to determine, but he did try his best, he wanted to do as well as he could despite his weakest skill is singing when it comes to musicals. though he was pleasantly surprised when the news of roles landed and he had snagged a lead role, the lead role of jack kelly. one of the first things he had told himself was that he would sit back and watch the musical one day to refresh his mind and see the characteristics and vibes of jack, and then he was hit with that sudden realisation.
jack and katherine. and ironically, aeri was casted as katherine and ever since, his mind had been reeling just a little.. just a little. so naturally, the script readings were a little nerve wrecking for sehoon, mainly because of the knowledge that they had three kissing scenes and sehoon hadn’t even fully came to the realisation that he was romantically interested in the female. with a thick stack of papers in his hands of the script, sehoon sits opposite aeri, slowly flicking through the pages and scanning over them before speaking. “have.. you seen newsies before?”
“both?” aeri furrowed her brows momentarily before she understood what sehoon was telling her. “ah…” her voice trailed off, followed by a soft chuckle. “it’s been a while since i’ve sang an english song, but i always believe in the idea that if you can convey the emotions and message of the song through your voice, it doesn’t matter so much on the language.” she knows that this audition is unlike the past auditions they’ve done where it was mostly produced by legacy. this time around, it seemed like they were willing to let them audition for projects outside of them and aeri can feel how stressful and scary it is. she had a vague idea how she would be in comparison to the other people in the company, but competing against people outside of that was a different situation.
snapping out of her thoughts, aeri commented, “based on how you were in dream high musical, i’ll make sure you’ll be even better than that. i’ve already seen how you are as a musical actor and it’s really not bad— in fact, you probably have a better chance succeeding in this audition than i do if i’m being honest about this…” with her mind focusing more on what they should do rather than all of the compliments she’s been giving to him, aeri suggested, “if you know what song you will be singing, can i listen to it? i promise i won’t tell a single soul what your audition song is. it’ll just be a secret between us!”
sehoon shot her a small, sheepish smile, feeling a little bad that he would asking for her advice when he knew that she was most probably going to participate too, so it felt a little selfish but sehoon also knew that aeri would always be there to help him if he needed it. so when she began talking, sehoon leaned in a little closer, listening carefully to the things he said to he could take them into practice. he nodded along, understanding what she meant by conveying the emotions and messages of the songs, humming softly to signal he was keeping up.
he took a deep breath, holding it in for a few moments before releasing it slowly. “you think? i’m just.. a little nervous, i think. because everyone has worked on their vocals since and i haven’t really because i’m not necessarily focused on it.” he admitted, his voice a little more quiet. he chuckled softly, shaking his head. “i really doubt that. your singing is better than mine, that’s a fact.” he responded before continuing. “yeah, sure. i think it’ll probably surprise you, actually..” he mumbled softly, pulling out his phone to open youtube and type the song, which was shallow from a star is born.
whenever it came to the more technical workshops, aeri could feel the expectations set on her every time she maintained eye contact with one of the coaches. aeri would presume that part of it came from her past accomplishments prior to becoming an actor (or even being a part of lgc girls summer), but to do well in singing after taking a break from it felt strange to her in some ways. thinking about who she could partner up with for the activity, aeri felt a touch on her wrist, which caused her to turn to see who it was.
following sehoon, aeri nodded instantly before letting out a soft chuckle. a year prior, they were in a similar situation but unlike before, the two of them knew each other. she knew that the moment the audition was announced that they would somehow experience this moment and aeri wanted to make sure that sehoon would do well. “certainly… i mean how can i say no to someone like you?” aeri teased before turning to face him. “what do you need help with? the song or the actual singing part?” she followed up with a question, hoping that they could figure out where to start.
the good thing about the workshops was that they were always there to help everybody improve, and sehoon usually always took advantage of the workshops when they were happening because he had learnt that it was the best way to branch out of his comfort zone, which was something that he had wanted to do for a little while in order to help him further his skills. he didn’t want to always have the same roles or for casting directors to possibly choose him for the same similar roles, even though he probably suited them, he wanted to try and branch out a little more.
and that included musicals, but there was the singing aspect that he had always needed to take on board. but having aeri around was always incredibly helpful, because in the past she had always been there for him when he needed advice or tips or help. his face could easily show he was a little nervous, but he didn’t necessarily feel it when he was around aeri now. a small, airy laugh creeped up his chest at aeri’s comment, feeling a little more relaxed and less nervous to ask. “well.. both? but one part is something i think you might struggle with too.. it’s an english song, but i’m mostly worried about singing.. you know it’s not my most favorite thing, and it’s not my best skill, so your help would be really appreciated.”
sehoon wanted to do well, he wanted to good in this audition and he knew he would be okay in all aspects but singing, because singing had never been an area that he reached out to work on - he didn’t thoroughly enjoy it as much as dancing or acting, and dancing came to him more naturally than singing ever had. but musicals had been a new interest of his over time, and he wanted to try for the main role for this new musical that was in the works, but with his struggles with singing, he felt a little helpless, but he knew there was always one person who would help him. she had helped him before when it came to singing, and the tips and advice that she had given to him prior he still used to this day and he’s even received positive comments about how his voice had improved, even if it was just a little bit.
so one day in the voice and dictation workshop, sehoon gently grabbed aeri’s wrist when they were able to gather in partners or groups, pulling her away to the side away from everybody. his eyes look hopeful, praying that she would be able to help him. “can i ask for your help? about the audition..?”
sehoon had been in his fair share of musicals by now, and he remembered how.. unmotivated he was the first time. like, he wasn’t too fussed about it but he had to do it, however since that first time, he’s never been able to say he disliked it. he didn’t hate it, and he actually felt a little bit of positivity from it. he even found himself auditioning willingly for the dream high musical, which was a little bit of growth for him if he were honest. and now hearing that there was a new musical production happening that wasn’t hosted by legacy, part of sehoon wanted to audition. for a few reasons really. one being that the experience was always good to have, second being that it was the first one that wasn’t hosted by legacy, so that was a big opportunity for him too, and the third was - because he actually wanted to.
auditions had become almost like a little bit of a routine for sehoon, but this one had a whole different preparation period for him. while filming for the truth untold, he had also been practicing hard on his singing for this audition. out of all his skills, he knew that his singing was the weakest because it had never been an area he felt like he needed to focus on. and dancing came more to him naturally than singing ever did. but he knew he would just about make it if he passed this audition with his singing, so in the midst of rehearsing and filming for the truth untold, sehoon had also been working hard on his vocals in order to match the song he had chosen for his audition, which just so happened to be ‘shallow from a star is born, sung by lady gaga and bradley cooper’. he had seen the musical again recently, having seen it scroll by on his netflix one day, he had his eye on it again, though with his schedules he hadn’t had the chance to sit down and watch it until recently, and the song had just been one that he thoroughly enjoyed. so why not use it for his audition?
the biggest hurdle for him though, was singing, his vocals, and getting the english pronunciation right, because he wasn’t really too familiar with english, his skills were limited but he wanted to do well in the audition. so much that he had even went to aeri for advice and tips on how to do as well as he could, which was a bold step for him considering he wasn’t one to always reach out for help, but aeri made him comfortable, and he knew that she had an extremely talented voice, so she made the most sense to ask. after listening to her advice and tips and performing the song in front of her (which was a big step for him, who would have known?), he felt like he was able to do it decently well, so when the directors signal for him to start, he waited for the instrumental to begin and took a deep breath, preparing himself to sing for what was the first time in a good few months. he wanted to channel the same magical energy from the musical, though he wasn’t sure if his voice was able to do that, but he tried his best, even closing his eyes at certain points as he felt the song.
when the official four minutes of the song were over, sehoon slowly opened his eyes and gave a sheepish, small smile to the directors, taking a few steps back and getting ready for the scenario had chosen, which was ‘scenario a: your friend follows you to go somewhere and after spending thirty minutes walking around, your friend says, “admit it; you have no idea where you’re going, do you?”’. sehoon didn’t want to go with scenario b because he felt like it was too.. close to how he was personally, and scenario c didn’t appeal to him just as much, and having taken comedy workshops before, he knew he’d be able to turn his chosen scenario a little comedic. starting from the corner of the room, sehoon began taking slow strides across the room, glancing to his left and right every few moments as if he was trying to decipher where he was, or where he was heading. he bit his bottom lip too, his facial expressions a little uneasy as he played into the role, glancing behind him as if a friend was following him. changing his facial expression to an almost pained one, he turned around and sighed. “i did. i did, i swear.” sehoon said in defence, voice pleading. “i knew exactly where we were up until... 15 minutes ago..?” he mentioned sheepishly, raising his hand to rub the back of his neck as a little distraction.
a defeated look took over his features as he sighed heavily, flapping his arms against his side as he pretended to watch his friend walk off in front of him. “where are you going? why are you walking off? if i got lost, what makes you think you know where we are?” sehoon called out, voice raised a little as if he was calling out to his friend further away. though his mouth drops open in surprise, tilted to the side slightly before he began taking quick steps as if to catch up to his friend. “what do you mean you knew i was lost the whole time? why didn’t you say anything?!” he raised his voice more, his little quick steps speeding up into an awkward little jog, slowing down until he came to a stop, turning to the directors and bowing to signal the end of the scenario. throughout it all, he had emphasised on the poutiness in his voice and expressions, exaggerating his moves more to give it the little comedic feel. and returning back to his initial spot, he bowed again and retreated out of the room for the next hopeful person.
“yeah,” aeri paused, thinking about the words she was about to say only to stop once again as she hears his latter sentence. a part of her is tempted to ask him to be oblivious and ask him to repeat what he said, but with the amount of time they’ve spent practicing lines and acting, aeri felt that sehoon could quickly notice the lie. “we probably will if legacy keeps producing their own works. it seems a lot easier for them to hire actors in their subsidiary for things like that.” she responded in an attempt to sound logical about the situation, but her mind was still preoccupied over his words to the point where she was beginning to overthink about what his words meant.
“but… if we end up in another project again, expect me to ask you more questions about acting because you’re still the better actor between the two of us.” she said lightheartedly, even though it wasn’t the first time she said such words to him. but deep down, she really hoped that he didn’t mind her company — she enjoyed having him around (even if there were some lingering feelings that she couldn’t quite pinpoint). taking another sip of her drink, aeri proposed an idea, “what if in our next project, they make us… i don’t know, exes? maybe the opposite of how chanwoo and yeoreum were.” she added the latter as she thought about what the opposite of their relationship could be.
sehoon nodded his head in response, agreeing with aeri. it was different, a whole different feeling than any of the past times where things have wrapped up. this time felt like a real parting, because it was much more than sehoon had initially thought. though truthfully, he knew why he was feeling a little more sad over the ending than he did with the previous things they had worked on. and that was simply because it meant less time with aeri, and the thought of having to ask her if she wanted to hang out in order to spend time with her was a bit nerve wrecking, because when did he ever have that confidence? this was sehoon, the reserved guy, but if he had to ask so he could spend time with her, then somehow he was going to have to find that confidence.
it pretty much just slipped out, and sehoon has found himself doing that a little more often when he had been around aeri. just things he said without realising, only to then realise that they could be taken differently (if that wasn’t the intention anyway), and his cheeks would flush a light pink moments later. it was completely out of character for him, but his character had been changing as of recent. “yeah, and if they know certain people suit certain roles, i guess it works out too.” the elder commented, somehow wondering if they would ever be paired together again if they were ever working on the same thing. he chose to pretend like he hadn’t admitted that he enjoyed working with aeri, because if he even showed that he had let his mouth slip, there was the possibility of it making things awkward and sehoon honestly didn’t want that.
he chuckled softly, humming in response. “okay, but you should give yourself some credit too. you’re improving a lot, even if you don’t realise. you didn’t get an award for best newcomer for nothing.” sehoon gently nudged her, sending her a soft smile. while the corners of his lips linger curved upwards, he watched her as she took a sip of her drink, unnoticed to the fact that he was pretty much staring. his smile drops slightly, but not in a bad way but one where he’s in thought. “well, that’d be interesting, i think.. who knows if they’d be exes who hate each other or the type of exes where there’s still something lingering..” he trailed off, hand reaching out to grab a drink in attempt to find something for his hands to do.
hyoseop wasn’t much of a drawer, but he did like to paint, and a lot of his time was spent on painting. painting actually, was one of the few things his father actually did with him. hyoseop’s dad is a busy man, he’s a popular model, and he’s never really had the time for hyoseop. however every now and then the two find the time to get together and paint a painting both of them. drawing though, isn’t that difficult when you know how to paint, so hyoseop himself would say his drawing so far isn’t the worst.
“i’m sure you can create something pretty” hyoseop pats the floor beside him, indicating the other to sit next to him.
sehoon had never really been use to people flirting with him, considering he had been so closed off and reserved for as long as he can remember, and the fact that he was known for having that intimidating look to him didn’t really make people look at him and openly want to flirt with him. which was understandable, so it had been a hot minute since someone had tried hitting on him or flirting with him, so the least he expected was for hyoseop to grab his wrist and comment on how fit he was. it was surprising, and was probably noticeable with the surprised look on his face, though it wasn't a bad one, just a genuine surprised expression. he couldn’t but chuckle a little, softly shaking his head. “i mean, i wasn’t this fit when i was 15, but i started working out seriously when i was 19.” sehoon responded, finding the whole little interaction amusing.
it was way more amusing that sehoon had realised with the way hyoseop was interacting with him, completely oblivious to the whole intimidating image he had. well, that or he either didn’t care, but it was nice. it was fresh and new, and even though sehoon was still pretty reserved, he had been coming out of his shell a little bit more as of lately. and that was mainly due to the other trainees, models and actors he had to interact with, because they all had widely ranged personalities and he didn’t expect for it to begin to help him relax and open up slowly. his eyes drifted to where hyoseop was patting, and sehoon slowly walked over, kneeling down and then sitting with his legs crossed beside him. “maybe if there’s colors, that might make it pretty. i’m sure one of the kids who’s barely 5 can draw way better than me.”
there was something about sandals, hyoseop did not have a crush, but on sandals? there was something special about wearing them everywhere you go, letting them join you whether it’s sunny outside, raining or snowing. hyoseop isn’t exactly sure when it began that he stopped wearing real shoes and started only wearing sandals, it must have been around when he was eighteen-nineteen? he’s at least pretty sure he started wearing only sandals after he finished high school. ‘so hyoseop do you only wear sandals?’ no, there were two times where he did not, when he went to the gym, and when he was seeing his dad.
hyoseop had actually thought he’d be better at legacy style than he would be at the babysitting services. being here now though, he was pretty sure he was better at babysitting than fashion. sure hyoseop had struggled a little with the kids, but he had found his way to babysit, now? creating an outfit, he had never felt this little confident in something.
up he picked a pair of glasses, absolutely sure he himself would never wear them, but they could be fashionable without him knowing. “modern type?” hyoseop tilts his head to the side, if these glasses weren’t modern, then who were? he looks around again, this time picking up a pair of sunglasses “would this work better?”.
sehoon couldn’t remember the last time he had worn sandals if he were honest, they had never really been the type of shoe that he would reach out for, even in the summer. if there had to be a time, it would probably be if he was going to the beach or something along those lines, because no way was he going to get sand in his shoes, but even then, he remembered one time when he took his shoes and socks off before getting onto the sand. sandals were never really needed for him. so seeing hyoseop having such a dedication to them was pretty surprising and unique.
the elder had seen hyoseop during babysitting services too, and even then he had been sporting his signature sandals, and acknowledging his commitment for them was honestly.. kind of heart-warming, though he would never say that out loud, this was sehoon. he watched as hyoseop turned and looked around, following his eyes as he picked up another pair of glasses. gently placing the others back onto the table in front of them, sehoon took them from the other and looked at them more before handing them back to hyoseop. “try them both on and we’ll see how they look on, they might look different on than off, right?”
aeri hadn’t quite expected to get close with some of the staff and cast members during the last few months that it was starting to feel a bit bittersweet knowing that she would have to part ways with some of them (and her role as yeoreum). but she can tell that her participation on the truth untold has led her to many new opportunities and she’s even more excited to take on those new opportunities. after one of the staff members is done taking a photo of her, aeri thanks them for their help and continues to scan around the area to see if she could spot someone. but luckily, it seemed like someone had spotted her instead.
“sure,” aeri agreed as she made sure to give some extra space for sehoon. “it’s quite a goodbye party, right?” aeri starts off the conversation first, still taking in how many people were a part of the drama. “even though we’ve seen all of these people at least once, it feels like this one giant class reunion.” she joked as she took a sip of her drink. as she placed down the cup onto the table, she turned her head to look at him. “how does it feel to say goodbye to chanwoo?” she asked, curious if he shared the same sentiment as her when it came to bidding farewell to their fictional counterpart. “i’m definitely going to miss him and yeoreum too. at least they have a happy ending.” she adds the latter in a softer tone, hoping that no one else except them could hear her words.
the truth untold was an experience sehoon didn’t know if he was quite ready to let go of and move on yet, if he was honest. the experience was so fresh, being able to have a more prominent role and his co-stars be people that he knows, enjoys being around made it ten times more fun. it was always a little sad when filming came to an end, but the truth untold was different for a number of reasons. but right now, it was time to live in the moment and enjoy the finale party. plus, free food and drinks, it was an enjoyable atmosphere.
he smiled as aeri said yes, waiting for her to make some (bigger) space and he slowly sat down on the space provided for him, though making sure he’s not suffocating her or squishing her in any way. he nodded in response, taking a deep breath. “yeah, it’s really nice. the atmosphere is warm, it’s pretty bittersweet though, don’t you think?” he scanned the restaurant, taking in just how many people were around and took part of the show. sehoon turned his head back to aeri as she asked him about chanwoo, a soft chuckle slipping past his lips shortly after. “i’ll admit, it’s a little sad. i really liked his character, but i believe they’ll have a happy ending. they have each other, and we have each other.” sehoon says, tone soft, his voice getting a little more quiet towards the final sentence. “maybe we’ll be in another drama together, or a movie. who knows. i like working with you.”
nabi thinks about it for a moment, because trends come and go so fast these days that it’s hard to keep up, especially with people going through clothes like it’s nothing on tiktok. “i guess y2k is still popular these days? that one miu miu skirt is trendy, you know the one that’s short and low waisted?” she claps her hands together, as if suddenly remembering something when she has a sudden thought. “oh yeah, low waisted is popular! i’ve bought some low waisted pants recently because it’s so trendy, and i’m tired of high waisted all the time, you know?”
“i don’t really know what’s trendy for boys though?” she purses her lips, trying to think but comes up with nothing, which is why she had been hoping to be in team crystallis or fabula when she was assigned groups, because she feels like she knows a little bit more about them. “yeah bright colors too! but i feel like they really break out the denim in the summer?” she tilts her head, trying to remember. “but either way we can have both! i feel like agito fits bright colors anyways, don’t they? and bright colors seem very retro too.”
sehoon’s head snaps in nabi’s fdirection the moment he hears y2k, because he’s absolutely confused by whatever it is. he stays silent for a few moments after she speaks, staring at her with a little blank expression as he tries to think and gather his thoughts. “y2k?” he begins after a few moments of silence, his eyes slightly wider in surprise. “... what’s that?” he finishes, his teeth clasping down onto his bottom lip slightly, hint of sheepishness slithering over his features. what the hell was y2k? was it a brand? it sounded like a brand, it must be a brand.. right?
“i don’t think low waisted jeans have ever not been.. popular for guys? it’s always been common for us, i think, so.. maybe the opposite? high waisted jeans? though i don’t know how they would look or how comfortable they’d be.” sehoon mentions as the thought pops into his head, but he’s still not 100% sure if it’s even workable, but it was worth a shot. “we could... somehow make the demin colorful? add patches of colored fabric or paint on it..? i think it could work, actually.”
what went around in hyoseop’s mind? sure thing, if you wanted to debut, having a fan base who too wanted you to debut could help. it was one thing to be talented enough to debut, but if you had many people who already supported the idea of you debuting, that could really help. and hyoseop of course, he wanted to debut, so in order to get more fans (or just get any fans) he decided to show his face more on the camera. but, was it worth it to show your face on camera when you weren’t even sure that there would come positive feedback from what you were doing. it had been obvious to hyoseop, sign up for babysitting services to get people to know him, but really if you thought about it, what would they get to know about him from this? it was not like hyoseop was good with kids, so what could he really gain from this?
but anyways, even if he wasn’t sure he would actually gain fans from this, he should at least try to enjoy his time here with the kids. the man though, was growing quite tired of sitting alone with the kids, so as sehoon passes by hyoseop grabs the other’s wrist. “sehoon! wouldn’t you like to join me and the kids in drawing? it’s suuuper~ fun” a smile on his lips.
it was a spur of the moment kind of thing when sehoon signed himself up for babysitting services, and it was only after when he was ready to start filming and had actually seen all of the kids dotted around the room that he truly realised what he had signed himself up for, because he couldn’t remember the last time he had interacted with a kid this young.
had he ever even interacted with a kid this age? the only kid he remembers being around was his younger sister when she was young, but even then, she wasn’t this young and back then he was also young, though a few years older than her at least, so it was easier to interact with her. and he already knows this whole experience is going to be something else, especially with the knowledge that it’s a variety show, it was going to be aired on tv. who knows that he would look like to the general public and viewers, and how he would be edited.
taking a little snoop at the kids toys (because in all honesty, they had tons and it looked quite intriguing to see how the toys had developed since he was younger), he feels a hand wrap around his wrist and sehoon turns around, expecting to see a little child but instead he see’s a fellow male, who definitely wasn’t a little child. drawing was definitely something he lacked at, but for the sake of the show and pleasing the kids (because he could see a couple giving him the eyes in the corner of his and he couldn’t say no when he was being recorded, could he?), he hums softly. “as long as you’re all okay with stick men, yeah?”
