Good morning! ・・・ By @pg_three #inspiration #handtype #calligraphy #typelove #welovetype #Repost @handmadefont
It's been seven months since we said "I do," and looking back, I can't help but me amazed at how fast we pulled it off.
Last spring Sergio and I decided we wanted to make 2014 the year we finally tied the knot after 14 years of being together. We had tried getting married before, planned the whole thing, and for one reason or another, things simply didn't happen.
Towards the end of June, we heard back from the Justice of the Peace, and eloped on the 4th of July with just our parents, my brother and best friend present--and wearing my beautiful "Something Blue" Manolo Blahniks of course. With the help of my amazing mom, we held a small brunch with our most intimate friends and family two days later to celebrate our union at a friend's restaurant in the heart of Mexico City. The outcome was a very rustic, shabby chic affair, filled with more DIYs than I had ever done in my life.
The day prior to the brunch, we emptied out my mom's fridge and filled it with so many beautiful flowers and centerpieces. Only in Mexico can you buy so many flowers for so little (all flowers were purchased for about $100 USD). For our dessert table, we used wooden crates and clay pots painted a few days before, along with bird cages, natural branches and plenty of flowers. Sweets included an array of mexican candy, along with red velvet cake and cupcakes for all guests. For the tables, we went with white linens, burlap runners, rustic little baskets and wine bottles filled with more flowers. All chairs had baby's breath flowers tied with burlap ribbons, and signage for "Mr and Mrs" of course. Menu cards, place cards and table numbers tied around wine bottles were all designed by me. The final touch to our brunch was our photo booth with message board and props (used a rolling clothing rack to drape fabric, and plywood painted with black chalk paint for message board).
Considering we planned everything in little under a week, I'd say we did fantastic. We're currently trying to set a date for our religious/spiritual ceremony, this time hopefully in the company of all our friends and family.
2014 has certainly been a good year for us at BLACK KOI 360 Design Studio. We had the opportunity to work with new clients, and continue growing with older ones. The McAllen Convention Center has kept us very busy throughout the year, and we were thrilled to hear they had chosen us to design the image for all their events and activities to take place in December.
The first task was to create the identity for their tree lighting ceremony, which this year will feature a 65 ft. tall tree that will be located in their Oval Park. We wanted to design something that was fun and in the future could be used for merchandising and souvenirs. The final product was a beautiful snow globe featuring the McAllen Convention Center building, palm trees, a snowman, Santa’s sleigh, and a grand tree.
Collaterals included: posters, post cards, digital branding, and marquee design, light post banners and tree skirt that will wrap the bottom of the tree.

A Peek into the Life of a Tibetan Monk with @gdax
For a peek into the daily life of Tibetan monk དགེ་འདུན་དབང་ཕྱུག (Gedun Wangchuk), follow @gdax on Instagram.
དགེ་འདུན་དབང་ཕྱུག, or Gedun Wangchuk, (@gdax) is a Buddhist monk living in Tibet, where he uses Instagram to share scenes from his daily life atop one of the highest locations on earth. The region boasts an average elevation of 4,900 meters (16,000 feet) and is home to some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Mount Everest at the Nepal border to the southwest.
"Mankind shares and lives on planet Earth as one family with each continent having its own different nationalities, religions, faith, customs, unique culture and languages. But aside from such differences, we all have the same common desire for happiness," Gedun says. "That’s why Instagram, as a window to this global family, is a joy."

What Does Your Logo Say About Your Business? [Infographic]
Have you worked with a graphic designer or studio to create a logo for your business? If you haven’t, but it’s something you plan to do in the future, you might want to think about the colors and fonts that will be representing your business.
For inspiration, take a look at what some of the world’s biggest companies’ logos say about them. Facebook, like 33 percent of the world’s other top brands, uses blue as its featured colored. Blue is associated with trust, dependability and strength. Green, used by Starbucks and Android, suggests nature and eternity. Purple, like the shade the Yahoo uses, says “mysterious” and “sophisticated.”
The other main ingredient for a logo is its font. Scripted fonts suggest a business that is more feminine and welcoming, while modern narrow fonts suggest trendiness.
What do you think about the conclusions reached by 123Print, who created this infographic? Are they accurate?
