Too late for MerMay BUT I’m cooking up a siren au. Here’s a concept I had for Casper :3

Some thoughts under the cut

I’m thinking that for this au all reaper characters would instead be sirens. Their role is more or less the same, ferrying human souls to the afterlife, but they go about it in a different way.

Casper is still trying to take Sunshine’s soul in this au, instead trying to lure them into the water so he can drown them and take their souls that way. Sunshine keeps refusing to “take the plunge” because they can’t swim. Somehow they’re resistant to Casper’s siren song which baffles him.

At some point he DOES manage to get them in the water but instead of drowning them it’s a really cute and romantic scene of him teaching them how to swim.

Instead of sunflowers, Casper gifts Sunshine with shells that remind him of them
