The blonde shrugged when he asked what the hug was for and wrapped her arms around him one again when he pulled her into another embrace. She stayed like that for a while, with her head on his chest wondering when was the moment that they weren’t those children in the sandlot anymore. When did everything get so messed up and why life was so adamant on screwing them over. There was a pregnancy planned in her book, and Liam never wanted to be part of the family business. The young blonde took complete comfort in being in her best friends arms. “I’m pregnant, Willy,” she finally said. And she was having withdrawals, so scared to be alone in case she hurt the thing growing inside of her. “Uncle Willy sounds really nice,” a small chuckle left her lips before she lifted up her hands to ruffle his hair. “The thing can do this and cling onto you like a spider monkey and your number will be on speed dial as Uncle Fester so he or she can bother you 24/7.”
Life sure had changed from the time when the two of them were children, when their biggest worry was that someone would beat them to their favorite part of the sand box. He still remembered staying up for hours, listening to Lissa talk because the blonde had always had a peculiar way of looking at life, she often saw the potential in everything around her except herself and that’s where she and he were alike. Because as much of a hero that she saw in him, that’s exactly who he saw in her. She had always been able to make things disappear anything that scared him, or made him feel bad all he had to do was call Lissa. He hadn’t expected the words that fell out of her lips however and for a second he didn’t know exactly what to say, but soon enough he was laughing, pulling her hands out of his hair before pulling her in for another hug. “So now there will be two of you to boss me around, ah my purpose in life.” He joked as he kissed his best friend’s cheek affectionately. “Whatever you need Liss.” He whispered into her ear, and he meant it more than anything. “Do they know?” He asked as he pulled away his eyes finding hers. Names not being needed, but he couldn’t deny that even with said news that his insides still hoped that she’d end up with anyone but those two.
