I think it's incredibly important here to not overlook the fact that she is a Black woman. Transphobia, racism, and sexism overlap significantly because of the incredibly eurocentric beauty standards women are judged on.

Wait, do people really invision their Dalish inquisitor as feral? Cause that’s weird. I personally always envisioned mine as somewhat manipulative and clever. Granted, I think there are many ways to have an OC, but the idea of a character as being ‘feral’ has always been kinda off putting to me.

I know you mean well but it does kinda bug me that whenever someone points out racism in the fandom there's always a follow up like "does this really happen?" "is this real?" And the answer is always yes. It's real. It happens.

I was so looking forward to getting to this point in the game with my first non-binary Rook, and I was not disappointed!

I love that Dragon Age: The Veilguard doesn't just simply let you pick pronouns and that's the end of it; the game actually has reactivity and special dialogue where you can have your character reflect on what it means to them to be trans/enby, talk to others about being trans/enby, etc. It's SO GOOD. It really raises the bar for me when it comes to queer inclusion in video games.

It's amazing, my only sadness is not having more options for a character who isn't comfortable with their gender entirely yet, but I also may have just picked the wrong options lmao. I'm so freaking glad they actually included being trans in the role-playing experience, that is something I've ALWAYS wanted.

Yeah I’d honestly say that Veilguard is MUCH more queer than BG3, sure you can pick if you want different types of genitals in BG3 or you can use they/them pronouns but it’s not like the characters actually interact with that besides how they refer to you

Yeah, what really sells DATV's queer representation for me is that it's not just about character customization, it's about including queer culture and connectivity in roleplay options! Being able to relate to other queer characters, being able to acknowledge both pain and pride in the journey of authentic individuality, being able to not just see but FEEL your character and other characters... it's so refreshing. And it should serve as an example for other developer studios.

Like, I literally had to pause after that conversation with Taash the first time I heard them say "no one likes being a woman" because I personally felt SO seen. I used to just assume everyone with breasts really hated them. My dysphoria was so bad it was getting in the way of me feeling like a woman; now that they're gone, I feel much more comfortable identifying as both a woman and man together. And don't even get me started on non-binary Rook's comments about hating being put in a box about what a woman has to be or a man has to be... holy shit that's so spot on relatable too.

I’m not a comics expert by any means but I think that superheroes would be way less famous if they existed in the real world. Like irl, a lot of cities have local celebrities that are inside jokes for the people who live there. And between there only being 1 or 2 vigilantes in a huge city and the press not having great access to them I just can’t imagine them being any more famous than a citywide meme.

Like imagine you go to Gotham or some shit and this big fuckoff man in a black cloak and mask wooshes right past you while you’re in line for a burrito and you tweet about it and you get like 5 quotes being like “lmfao tourists don’t even know about batman anymore” like. The bat?? man??? And he’s just some guy that runs around assaulting criminals??? Or you visit your friend in NYC and see some wierdo in a red and blue gimp suit eating a hotdog and no one bats an eye and you’re like “do you think that guy is okay no judgement but like what is up with him” and they’re like “omg wait did I forget to tell you about spiderman?” And you can’t tell if this is just a New York thing or if you are actually losing your mind. Like can you imagine
