Sometimes the help you need isnât the help you want. Call 1-800-273-8255 if youâre thinking of suicide.
This comic meant a whole lot to me. It was sincere in its depiction and treated the issue through the eyes of a grounded person. Not some godly hero saying everything is better than it seems, but a person trying his best before bringing her somewhere who can actually help.
This is from Deadpool v4 #20Â (written by Gerry Duggan, art by Matteo Lolli)Â for anyone wondering.Â
Hereâs the letter from the writer at the end of the issue:Â

Have you ever wondered where books come from?
Well then, let me show you, because thatâs what I do for a living.
Right now, itâs this time of the year, and the little ones have just freshly hatched:
Youâll notice theyâre still blind and naked when they hatch. So I make them little coats to keep them warm during their first winter:
See how they happily line up to put them on:
See? Better. Now theyâre ready to go and explore the world.
And if they make it through the winter and we take good care of them, they will grow up to be strong and wise like their older fellows:
So, in case you were ever wondering, now you know.
As a Publishing Professional I can say that this is 10000% accurate, and I am a little concerned youâre just giving away all of our industry secrets on Tumblr.
I am a famousy awards-winning author of BOOKS and I endorse this post.
Iâve seen this post 800 times and am only now realising that Neil Gaiman endorsed this post

authors on ao3 who publish individual chapters are the scum of the earth. mass publish it like the rest of us who have zero patience.
#hhhh i got angry #i hate waiting weeks for them to finish like!! #just write it all in a google doc and THEN publish it!! #not that hard!!#most of us have no patience and WILL give up on your fic!! just saying!!
LMAO. Look at these entitled ass tags.
Most writers I know donât write fan fics for other people, we write them for ourselves and publish them so that others can enjoy them as well. I donât give a chicken fried fuck if you stop reading it. Ainât nobody paying me.
Basically what @strawberrywhorecake said and also, there are plenty of fanfic writers- and plenty that I personally know- that upload individual chapters because they're looking for active feedback on each and every chapter they work on. essentially they're fine-tuning each chapter as they go and also to test the waters for a fic. Many fic writers are looking to improve their writing through feedback first; the enjoyment that others get comes secondary to the author's desire to improve.
There are legitimate reasons why people upload individual chapters, and it is most definitely not because they want to leave the audience hanging.
I'm not trying to be confrontational; I'm just stating actual reasons that fic writers I know state as to why they prefer individual uploads rather than a one-time upload. Maybe one-time uploads work for OP and there's nothing wrong with that! It's just that every person has their own reasons to how they go about things and nobody has any say over that besides the author themselves.

I used to post art on here but stopped because of low engagement. tbf I know my art isn't of great quality and maybe that's why I'm not getting engagement but eventually moved onto Instagram. tags and reblogs mean a lot because I get that replying might feel intimidating (I'm deathly afraid and anxious that people might think it's annoying if I comment, long story) but yeah I dunno. I def feel discouraged from posting art on here. I'm not doing well either on Instagram but I still want to try
I used to have an art blog too! I have an insta, for some reason I just hate posting images and having to add tags to them for visibility so I stopped keeping up my tumblr and I donât tag shit on insta anymore. And itâs important to try, but also important to give yourself the occasional detattchment from your online responsibilities. It is frustrating because attention and interaction seems so intrinsically linked to value, when it is not so, and yet we still feel the discouragement. But it is also important to be emotionally involved in things that require your passionate efforts.
