bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental
You've made me download Adobe Photoshop just to learn how to make gifs. It's Tumblrs like yours that push me to lean into my creativity, really.

honestly, making gifs can feel a bit intimidating when ur just starting, but I promise it gets easier with practice.
my process isn’t really anything fancy it’s just the same stuff most gifmakers do. when I first started, I followed a ton of tutorials, so I’ll link some of my favorites below! (i still refer to them 'til this day)

one trick I think helps my gifs look smoother is adjusting the framerate of the video before I start making gifs. I use handbrake for that. rly makes a huge difference sometimes!

as for sharpening, I use kylo’s sharpen action and tweak it depending on the vid. I also use gaussian blur if the gif gets too sharp and I want it to have that softer look. or topaz denoise sometimes if the video is too grainy.
for coloring, I usually color each gif from the scratch as I make it, but these coloring tutorials were a game changer for me!

always use videos that are 1080p or higher for giffing! lower res vids tend to compress badly and ur gifs might come out grainy/blurry. also here's a guide to tumblr's dimension so they show up right~
I use 4K Video Downloader and Jdownloader to grab stuff off yt, then mpv for screencapping (x) (x)
aand lately I’ve been seeing ppl use vapoursynth for gifmaking so I'm trying to learn that too.

There’s something about your gifs that makes them so unique but I cant exactly pint point why … like they’re so CLEAR and SMOOTH and so are the other ppl’s gifs of Lewis but yours are just different in a (very) good way obvs !
