you think fat trans men are hot. reblog
“Haha remember when murder-hornets were gonna be a thing? What a nothingburger.”
Yes, because the Washington state government activated like a sleeper-cell and ruthlessly, systematically hunted them down and annihilated them.
“Y2K came to nothing amirite?”
Yes because an army of software engineers working around the clock, losing sleep, and busting ass till the last minute prevented it from happening.
“Remember the hole in the ozone layer?”
You mean the one that was fixed through rigorous world wide government action?
One of the root problems of our society is a refusal or inability by media to articulate that all those “it’s gonna be an apocalypse” disasters were not disasters because we collectively did something about them.
The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.
And I still think that’s going to happen. I don’t know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope won’t help bring it about.
And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.

when the characters never really make peace with it
(wanting to make a post about something but it reveals too much about your personal life) i have had a negative experience
Ok, it's finally done. Home is a place, home is a person.
This story is my first major piece after several years of art block, and I'm so glad I could finally get back to drawing.
Huge thanks to my dear friend @chancekey for the support.

Secunit: ugh i haaaate being a bot/human construct; it's like being handed the worst of the two things. first, they put weapons all over me to murder people at will and brand me with the company logo like the piece of equipment I am and then make me look human (ugh). the only things these stupid organic parts are good for is giving me anxiety, depression, and making me leak. now, not only am I a terrifying murderbot, i'm also a moody, snarky asshole whom no one wants to associate with. i'm 90% sure of it — my threat assessment module said so.
ART: holy shit, a bot/human construct?! you mean to say not only is this little guy smart as hell, always running a hundred processes in its tiny brain, loves being ten steps ahead of everyone but not in a holier-than-thou way like some ships, it also experiences emotions in a soft, vulnerable way like my beloved humans do?
and only after meeting it I am a step closer to comprehending the intricacies of it all because interacting with this bot-construct and learning how it processes emotions and about its life experiences has opened up a new world of understanding for me, which I never ever ever considered was possible (being the pinnacle of machine intelligence and all) ??
it's like they made it in a factory specifically for me !
on top of all that, it sasses me back in a way no one has ever done before and matches my freak perfectly.
i trust it with my main core and all of my backup processors AND my humans. i'm going to put it in my pocket and travel the star systems forever and ever!
from network effect. i imagine ART is like an eldritch horror but for bots
was thinking about rapport and how much art has the vibe of a teenage girl laying on her bed kicking her feet and writing in a diary about her new friend she made and. in trying to map that image onto a fuck off huge spaceship my brain offered me a vision of a fighter jet blushing and tilting its wing flap dealies. obviously i don't think spaceships have wing flap dealies but. art talking to iris about murderbot and she looks out a porthole and there's like a satellite or a sensor or something tilting back and forth and she's just immediately transported back in time to being 14 and talking about crushes at sleepovers
murderbot and arts first meeting is literally so funny. like imagine you meet a biblically accurate angel and instead of being all 'be not afraid' it says actually you SHOULD be afraid. and then when you are in fact afraid it goes oh shit oh fuck. not THAT afraid, sorry. wanna watch tv? and then you watch tv with it and it keeps telling you to pause it when its favourite characters are in danger so it can calm down. and then it asks to do surgery on your bones. Asshole Research Transport character of all time

ok heres the other kind of ART (previous, friendlier version here :3)
New pfp :)
huge fan of when characters love each other and are closely bonded in an explicitly nonromantic way. however ☝️ i am very much not a huge fan of what happens when characters like this are introduced to fandom
