         ;  ESCAPE! ă                         ;  ESCAPE! ă
    ââââââââââââââ  âšÂ ââŽÂ from this { ..sorrowful*â˘Â âĄfate }
It was a big catch indeed!
Surely, Efina wouldn't be needing anymore to eat today. Hopefully.
MORE THAN YESTERDAY TODAY                          AND MORE THAN TODAY TOMORROW                                                                    LETâS MAKE THESE DAYS ââ    ââ    ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ   ââ        ââââ âĽ*EVEN âMORE! âWONDERFUL. )
â(â˘â˘Ăˇ[ ŃΚПe ÎšŃ gold ]áâ˘â˘â
This couldnât be good.       Yet, Tâ Leo found himself appreciating the silence for once. He was still trying to figure out how and why this little dragon came about and why she decided that he would be her âpapaâ.
As annoying as she was at times, he couldnât bring himself to leave or sell her, even if dragons could fetch up a rather high price⌠but no. Leo was simply a con artist. He wasnât into this trading business. (Unless it involved information. That, he was good at.)
Of course, he should have been able to foresee that this peaceful silence would not last for long. Upon the blondeâs question, he turned around to see what Efina was talking about. It took him a moment to trace exactly where her gaze was pointed â after all, there shouldnât be an arrow in hereâŚ? â and she must have been referring to the clockâs hand. Ah. That explains the âarrowâ.Â
â Those âarrowsâ are the clockâs âhandsâ.â He started, turning back to his papers on the table. â The shortest one is the hour hand; the longer one is the minute hand. The one that moves the fastest is the second hand.â He hoped that his explanation was simple enough for the little dragon to understand.
âHands?â The dragon, clueless in thoughts, tested the word on her tongue.
There were no other explanation it. Exactly as it seemed, things had never really made sense to her. But of course, alike any other children, she often wondered about lots of things, but understood very little(depending on the subject, whether she was genuinely intrigued by it or not). And in this particular subject--yes, she was indeed intrigued, though unfortunately very hopeless in gripping the logical explanation to it.
The dragon averted her eyes from the palm of her hands, hung upon the cold air at front of her, to meet the eyes of Teo's. âWeird! They don't look like hands at all..â
"Eat⌠lies?"
They had heard of many abilities, from mind-reading to eating rainbows, but this was the first time they heard of something like this. They could only wonder how it worked. People cannot literally eat their words, after all.
"So.. do the lies turn into things orâŚ?â
âYeah!â The dragon responded, then added, âI can eat other things too, but they don't make me full.â
And there she went again, trusting people, strangers specifically, without struggle-- exactly as how she always had. Though this time it was different. The other was in fact a dragon, unlike the other humans she had told about her skills. Because of that, wouldn't it be only natural for her to admit things like those without second thoughts? Well honestly, it didn't matter that much. Some dragons as a matter-of-fact, like the vice captain, are capable of detecting other dragons anyway. So even if she didn't told the other, they might be aware of her true identity sooner or later.
Now thinking of it, it didn't seem like her papa ever stopped her from telling, either.
âThey turn into.. black little monsters. I can eat them all up after that!â
I'm leaving now, see you guys in a week or more! I'll reply as soon as possible then refer to this post if curious/unaware.
"Oh um, yes, Iâm a dragon. I turn invisible."
They were used to being around the other kids who all knew what the others could do, so Slate felt odd talking about their ability.
"Does that mean youâre a dragon? What can you do?"
âWhoa!â
The little girl was astonished to had known about the other dragon's ability. Turning invisible? That was not something Efina saw everyday. She realized that the other own a unique ability, just like the other dragons she had met. It was a pleasure to know other dragons and their abilities. In a way, it might also lead her to the reason why her own power existed.
âYep. I eat lies!â She admitted with ease.
They nodded when she got their name right.
"Well, itâs very nice to meet you, Efi."
Gathering up their book and supplies, they made room on the bench and motioned for the other to sit with them.
"So, are you and your dad visiting anyone specific?"
âHm.â The dragon let herself ponder to answer the question. âWe're visiting Mr.Captain!â She said, marching to the bench to sit herself beside Slate and smiled merrily. âAre you a dragon too?â
notice
..Hungry.
"Well, thank you. I study a lot."
They watched her ponder the question and merely said âOh,â to her answer. The facility didnât get visitors often, unless it was a parent of one of the children. They considered asking why the two were here, but perhaps it could wait for later. They smiled at hearing their name.
"Thatâs right. Slate. And whatâs your name, miss?â
The dragon after a while, however, still struggled to pronounce the name of the other. And so attempts happened, âSalate.. Surate.. Sla..te. Got it!â cried the little one after her success.
âI'm Efina. Call me Efi!â
"Oh! Y-yes, I can read."
They were rather startled, but they were glad they didnât disappear again. They hadnât heard the little girl approach them, but she was so small she could not have been a threat. It occured to them that they hadnât seen her before. Perhaps she was another dragon child?
"Um, are you new here? Iâm Slate. Itâs nice to meet you."
âWhoa! You're smart!â Complimented Efina in respond to the other.
Her finger pointed onto her cheek, she let her eyelashes flutter twice. She hadn't expect for questions of the sort to travel to her way. By new.. did they mean that Efina was a new person in the police's headquarter? No. Surely not. Efina shook her head once to confirm it.
âI'm visiting with papa!â She stated confidently, then tested the name of them on her tounge. âSa..late...â

They sat on a bench outside of the police headquarters, hunched over a thick book. They frowned, turned to the next page, and frowned again. Math just did not make any sense to them. They wondered if they should give up and play inside with the other dragon children. The child sighed.
"Lessons are hardâŚ"
âHey, you read books!â The dragon bluntly spoke, marching toward them in a rush, noticing the book on the other's hands as they read it. Or at least she thought they were.
