You can never circle it enough times.

So I sat down to listen to Sibelius’ 1st Symphony (♥️) and as I listened to that melancholy clarinet solo at the beginning, I just felt like
yes
this is it.
This is what I want to do. I want to be there. I want to play that solo. I want to sit in that chair in an orchestra, and I want to play. I want to be an orchestral musician. I need to be an orchestral musician.
I’ve wanted to be one for ages, but I’ve never felt (or never let myself feel) this..need. This determination. I’ve always kept it as something I’d like to do, but that I might never achieve, so there’s no point in getting my hopes up too far. But no more.
I’m going to do it. I’m going to be an orchestral clarinetist. And I don’t care how long it takes, how many setbacks I encounter. I don’t care how many people tell me I ‘can’t’ do it.
I’m going to be a musician.
Handwritten manuscript of Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte - Op. 19, No. 2 (dated December 11, 1830), which belonged to Vladimir Horowitz.
The funny thing about Pasculli’s Capriccio etudes is that they are based on Rode’s violin caprices, and you therefore have hidden excerpts (like this bit of Queen of the Night), which the oboe doesn’t actually play. This is Pasculli/Rode no. 2.

30/1/18: 30/100 days of productivity
Today’s violin practice was pretty productive! I worked out a really good warm up involving a ton of arpeggios and octaves… Then I went over the first 4 movements of Bach partita 2 as I’m recording them soon for IB, then last movement of the Bruch violin concerto - it’s sounding so much better now that I’ve worked on my bowing technique a little! 🎶
lost my mute and had to use this at the concert. it’s been one of those days
Creativity and the Jazz Musician’s Brain
The scientists continue to find the brains of jazz musicians a fascinating source of study. Here, scientists compare the brains of classical and jazz musicians when faced with music of surprise. You can check out the musical passages they used for the study, to hear what they heard; perhaps the results of the study won’t exactly surprise you.

Uhhhh… Not sure if the original poster knows how small a violin is- let me break it down for you. It’s too small to live in. Violins are musical instruments that are to be played by people and they are small enough to carry on your shoulder, so no, you can’t live inside of one. It’s a shame I even have to explain this, people these days aren’t involved with the arts and rather listen to rap music.
^ TRUE….
FINALLY👏SOMEONE👏SAID👏THIS👏
holy shit, how pretentious can you be??? people like you are the ones who give classical such a reputation for being snobby.
first of all, this post was OBVIOUSLY a joke.
also wow this whole thing just REEKS of elitism. rap is great and also has literally NOTHING to do with this joke and also how is that not being involved with the arts?
yall are basic boring snobby ass pretentious musicians and should consider just deleting ur account and educating yourself on ALL types of music. and how to understand jokes.
One of the most challenging instruments I’ve ever attempted to learn. Hammered Dulcimer… one of the oldest instruments in the world.

There is very little that can’t be improved, in some form or another, by having In the Hall of the Mountain King added to it.
