my man of tomorrow plot prediction:

lex luthor in belle reve. making plans to get out. theres another villain he’s sort of allied with (braniac maybe?) who he believes is a pushover/complete fool and hes essentially just using him to escape. start getting backstory, building empathy for lex etc

meanwhile, clark is struggling with the issue that he can’t save everyone. He’s faced with a handful of villains of the week that he can’t change or convince and has to throw in prison or possibly hurt (NOT kill, hes not that guy). he doesn’t see where they’re coming from and doesn’t know what angle to take to convince them because he has an innate desire to help and save people and doesn't understand how someone can just not feel like that

finally out of prison, lex is running around causing trouble again. He hasn't returned to his complete former status (no ethical billionaires cough cough) but he’s still rich and just plotting in hiding. him and villain 2 make plans to capture and kill superman. when they get to superman, though, villain 2 double-crosses lex and gets both him and superman

while the rest of the heroes are trying to figure out a way to save clark and lex, the pair is getting that nice valuable forced proximity. lex Veeery slowly starts opening up. turns out his parents were distant so he rarely got attention unless he was excelling and being perfect. led him to being addicted to attention and being seen as gifted. clark gets to see him in a new light, beginning to see the good in him maybe????

they manage to get to safety and are about to go back to confront villain 2 when BOOM villain 2 pulls the infamous DOUBLE double cross and offers lex his reputation back if he betrays clark. internal conflict and lex takes the bait, making the wrong decision!!! oh no!!!! superman is captured again

while planning lex gets all guilty and feels awful for getting back on his bullshit so he goes back to save clark. the audience cheers from their fujoshi cuck chairs in the movie theater seats. awesome final battle, yaoiful epilogue, roll credits. post-credits scene of nicholas hoult and david corenswet out of costume making out for 5 minutes. makes 10 billion dollars in the box office. boom 💥
