Kyle Scatliffe and Skyler Volpe Added to the Cast for Season 2
Kyle Scatliffe and Skyler Volpe are the newest additions to the Life After Fat cast for Season 2. Scatliffe will be playing Jack, a web designer/filmmaker who takes a liking to Olivia, and Volpe will play Becca, a young yoga teacher that gets involved with Maddie.Â
âKyle has some really impressive theatre credits and has the kind of bright personality that's perfect for Olivia's love interest.â Said series creator and writer Julia Pugachevsky. âAnd Skyler is someone who tried out for Season 1 who we never quite forgot, and when we brought her in to read for Becca, we pretty much knew right away that she was the one.â
âKyle came to us with the highest recommendations, and Skyler is a multi-talented performer who kept showing up on our radar over and over,â added series director Jason Hood. âI can't wait to work with both of them.â
KYLE SCATLIFFE Kyle Scatliffe was born in Washington, D.C. and trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NY. His theater credits include Les Miserables (Broadway), Ragtime (Zach Theatre), Oklahoma (5th Avenue Theatre), A Christmas Carol: The Concert (Baltimore Symphony Orchestra/PBS), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Alabama Shakespeare Festival) and âHaywood Pattersonâ in the London premiere of The Scottsboro Boys, which garnered him an Olivier Award Nomination.
SKYLER VOLPE Skyler Volpe is a NYC based actor and performer. She has had the pleasure of performing at The Signature Theater, Theater for the New City, Judson Memorial Church, Triskelion Arts, Movement Research at Eden's Expressway, and the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, among others. Skyler also creates and performs her own work. www.skylervolpe.com
Ghost Bros To Return For Season 2!
Ghost Bros will be returning for Season 2. The show-within-a-show which appeared in the fifth episode, âTripâ, quickly became a favorite amongst the cast, crew, and fans.
Jacob Berger and Stephan Godleski will be returning to portray Tony and Johnny, respectively, as they bring their Jersey Shore bravado to uncover the mysteries of the supernatural.
âGhost Bros got some of the biggest laughs in season one and always seem to be a favorite, so it'll be great to have them reappear in season two,â said series writer and creator Julia Pugachevsky.Â
âMultiple people have told me that Ghost Bros is a show that they would legit watch,â said series director Jason Hood. âBringing them back was a no-brainer.â
JACOB BERGER Jacob is a New York born and raised actor who works in all areas of entertainment. You can see him this fall in principal roles on the new HBO mini series Show me a Hero and the new Amazon Prime Show Red Oaks. To see more of Jacob, go to www.jacobbergeractor.com to check out more of his pictures and reels.
STEPHAN GODLESKI Stephan is a Michigan-raised, Brooklyn-based actor and bartender who is trying to find his place in this beautiful city. He has performed in productions with the Wandering Theatre Company, the Exquisite Corpse Company, and UglyRhino, as well as web series and, most recently, in "Mysteries at the Museum" on the Travel Channel.
Kristen Seavey and Josh Quat Promoted to Main Roles for Season 2.
Kristen Seavey and Josh Quat were promoted to main roles for the upcoming second season of Life After Fat. Seavey plays Olivia, Maddie and Laurenâs quirky friend, and appeared in four episodes in the first season. Quat appeared in the pilot episode âPartyâ as Jeremy, a guy from Laurenâs past, and his band, Cumbre Vieja, contributed the song âGood Adviceâ for the credits of the third episode âBrunchâ.
âKristen's comic delivery is absolutely brilliant, and I'm so excited to write a bigger role for her in season two and give Olivia more depth as a character so she's more than just comic relief,â said creator and writer Julia Pugachevsky. Pugachevsky added, regarding Quat. âJosh was great in our pilot and his music is fantastic, so I wanted to bring him back in season two and have him become Lauren's new jamming buddy.â

Willâs New Favorite Web Series from #TOWebFest
Last weekend, Julia, Jason and I went to the T.O.WebFest at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema in Toronto, Canada for a weekend of panels and screenings, with a little bit of sightseeing in between. We have plenty of photos to show, but if you canât wait, you can follow us on Instagram right now!
On the Sunday leading up to our 10:50pm screening during the Late Night Comedy block, I had the pleasure to sit through nearly five hours of amazing web series from all around the world. Here are the ones I couldnât wait to get more of when I got home.
THE BANKS (LES BERGES)
This Quebec-produced French language drama featured a 23-year old young man named Jonathan with his best friend, his little brother, and girlfriend on a camp out on a remote island in the St. Lawrence River. Seen as coddled by his peers, Jonathan, in a fit of bravado, throws the keys of his boat in the river, cutting off the four companions from civilization to live off the land. The beautifully shot pilot drew me in like no other, and after seeing the second episode, I am hooked.
THE AMAZING GAYL PYLE
With a concept that seems fit for an Adult Swim show, this Toronto-produced comedy features the titular characterâs misadventures as a host of a Home Shopping Network-esque show. Comedic moments aside, Iâm also a pretty big fan of their usage of 80's kitsch.
I LUV U BUT
The T.O.WebFest featured a very strong lineup for their LGBTQ block, but this Melbourne, Australia comedy was my favorite. Featuring a closeted gay Arab-Australian man, his also-closeted lesbian wife, and his conservative family, seeing the first episode of the second definitely has me looking forward to what the nine other episodes from this season (as well as last season) have in store.
HAPHEAD
Taking a break from comedy, Haphead puts you into the near future where you can be empowered and learn skills by just playing video games. This becomes useful for 18-year old Maxine, who has to defend herself from forces coming after her after she steals the technology to do this. The production value of the cyber-punk series was one of the highest in the festival, and was a well-deserving winner for the festivalâs three awards for Best Web Series, Outstanding Science Fiction or Fantasy Series, and Outstanding Music.
IâM HARRY CLARK
Last but not least, our fellow Late Night Comedy block selection from Los Angeles is a political mockumentary a la The Thick of It/Veep that shows us the oft-politically incorrect yet very hilarious workings of the office of State Senator Harry Clark. The one-liners and biting dialogue was consistently hitting every second and I canât wait for more.
More on the T.O.WebFest coming soon. Donât forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more updates, as well as news for Season 2! To visit the T.O.WebFest website, visit www.towebfest.com!
