For the record, these are not from stans (and there’s a lot of them on Twitter).
These are from publications like Slate (Wickman and Adams), Variety (Setoodeh), The Guardian (Schilling), Coming Soon (Cerny), First Showing (Billington), Washington Post, Chicago Sun-Times, London Evening Standard, and Awards Ace (Weber).
It’s a very, very long shot, little to none. But– an overarching character arc that spanned nine films and eleven years, in arguably the most ambitious interlocking film series/project that this industry had ever seen and has changed recent modern cinema.
And RDJ happens to have knocked it out of the park with his performance in that final film (Endgame), a film that has currently captured the zeitgeist.
So … I feel like a supporting actor nod (not win, because that’s never gonna happen) is not that unreasonable.
