Well, I was photobombed by Mo the other day when I was trying to get a picture of my cigar.

I forget exactly which stick this was, it’s either a Fuente Hemingway or a King B. One way or the other, they’re both fantastic smokes and I suggest trying each of them if they’re sold at your local cigar shop!

Grabbed the last box of Percy Ray’s so Supa Dave can be jealous. Smoked this Fuente while I hoard my spoils for the night. :)

From my understanding, you can’t find Percy Ray just anywhere so if you see them, i’m advising you to buy what you can. There’s just something special about them that I can’t put my finger on.

Mo and I picked out some great cigars the other night. He enjoyed a nice LG by LFD and I had one of his recommendations, a Don Carlos Edicion de Anniversary 2008 by Arturo Fuentes.

I actually ended up having to leave the shop a little earlier than expected and couldn’t smoke the cigar all the way through, but I did make it about 3/4 of the way through, from which I took the following away.

-Had a great draw, not tight, not loose. Just right!

-The ash burned extremely tight, and was very hard, which is something i’ve learned I like about all of the Fuentes Cigars i’ve smoked thus far.

-Put out a fair amount of smoke, there’s few things worse to me than trying so hard to puff on a cigar just to get the most insignificant amount of smoke and flavor from the cigar.

If you haven’t tried one, they’re a tad pricy, but i’d recommend trying one just to see what you think of them yourself. I might wait a few months to smoke another, but I definitely enjoyed smoking what I was able to when I did!

Had to step out and enjoy the beginning of my Don Carlos God of Fire by Arturo Fuentes last night. It was extremely smooth and enjoyable.

It had an even burn all the way through and it lasted from 11:30 through midnight, when we all rang in the new year at Spring Street Cigars.

I’ll write more about this one in another picture, I want to get back to everyone and enjoy the rest of our New Year celebration!

I escaped the chaos of Cards Against Humanity last night to grab my cigar i’d be smoking at the turn of the New Year.

 A few of the guys and myself decided we’d all smoke a Don Carlos God Of Fire by Arturo Fuentes together, and it was an amazing cigar. Of course, given the situation, I had to pair the cigar with a little alcohol. So there’s your straight bourbon with one large ice cube as well as a coke to chase and/or mix it with.

I grabbed the last two of these Tatuaje Petite Cazadores Reserva’s so I have something to smoke towards the end of the night when I don’t have quite enough time to smoke a larger cigar.

 These resembled the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary very closely, had a leathery/sweet taste and aftertaste to them. I also picked up a handful of other cigars to help fill up my locker at the shop. I’ll have a picture of my collection that I keep at the shop posted soon. It’s a pretty sweet bunch of sticks.

We played Cards Against Humanity at the cigar shop last night with a group of friends. 

Definitely a great game to pick up and play when you celebrate the new year! That had to have been the most fun i’ve had in months. Smoking some great cigars, drinking some great bourbon, and enjoying a hilarious game with some close friends. 

Oh, I also taught this Fine and Rare by Alec Bradley to do a handstand. ;)

Decided to smoke this 3 year old Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne before my Fine and Rare the other night.

 I picked this cigar up back in San Antonio at some Club Humidor before we made our move to MS, they’re always a great reliable smoke for early in the day. Especially with some coffee!

Cool story actually, when we bought this cigar along with several others, we ran into Nick Perdomo at the Club Humidor, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately he was surrounded by people so I just briefly got to shake his hand and introduce myself. Seemed like a really nice guy, just happened to be very busy that day. :)

If you haven’t smoked one of these, and you’re into lighter cigars, or if you’re just newer to smoking cigars, i’d recommend trying one of these. Otherwise if you have a pallet that’s use to smoking more full bodied cigars, there’s a strong possibility you won’t like this cigar. Unless of course you smoke it early on in the day with some coffee, like I suggested earlier.

Upon moving my cigar inventory from my humidor into my locker up here at the shop, i’ll be smoking this Fine and Rare by Alec Bradley.

It’ll actually be the first Alec Bradley cigar i’ve ever smoked, so that’ll be an interesting experience to look forward to. I figured if i’m going to smoke my first, might as well go big or go home, right?

Tim was smoking one yesterday and I got to talking with him about it, which naturally made me want to try one myself. One of my favorite things I noticed just from observing Tim smoke his Fine and Rare was how beautiful the ash was, practically pure white! Much like some LFD’s and a handful of other cigars. There’s something about a cigar that burns beautifully that makes me enjoy them that much more.

Today we’re fulfilling that desire and doing so as sort of a celebratory event. As I briefly mentioned earlier, we got the new lockers in today and i’ll be able to leave my cigars here, which i’m really excited for. I’ll have to get you guys a photo of my locker whenever I get moved in. :)

Oh, and you guys know my standard Starbucks Coffee order by now.

I just finished smoking this little Cubanacan, very smooth, mild, and easy going cigar to potentially start you off for a long day of smoking cigars and relaxation.

Today I walked into the shop and felt as if I wanted to smoke a Fine and Rare by Alec Bradley, but I also knew I was going to be here a while and didn’t want to start out with the best of the best. Naturally I asked Mo to suggest something that I could precede the cigar of the day with, and he suggested this nice little Cubanacan. 

Something interesting, today we got in the new humidor lockers, so i’m excited to stock mine up with cigars. I’ll definitely be sharing a photo of the lockers with you guys soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Here’s a beauty from yesterday evening! You’ve got the best of both worlds, a fantastic cigar partnered with some great local coffee from Crave.

You guys have become acquainted with my cutter and lighter, so we’ll skip over them. You’re looking at a Toffee, Caramel, & Nut Coffee as well as a Goldie Laguito by La Palina. Though I certainly enjoyed the cigar more than anything, the combination was great, as expected. 

Of course, most the the times you’re willing to spend $18.00+ on a cigar, you won’t be disappointed with your experience. Suffice to say, there are always exceptions to this statement, and i’m even more certain you can find a larger selection of great cigars in the more budget-friendly $10.00 sweet spot.

If you’re contemplating trying a LaPalina, I would certainly suggest giving this thing a smoke. Let me know what you think if you end up doing so!

After those cigar tricks in the previous post, the ash ended up staying connected, surprisingly enough!

This got me thinking, I wonder how long I can get the ash to burn before it decides to fall off? Here’s the last picture I got before it fell, which happened just moments after this photo was taken. Maybe you’ll share some of your long ash pictures with me so I can see how you go about achieving the same goal.

Remember those cigar tricks I wrote about in a previous post? this is a prime example of what I was referring to!

Here we’ve got 2014′s Cigar Of The Year yet again, can you tell I like what Oliva has done with their Oliva V Melanio Figurado? I think you can. If you happen to be in the Tupelo, MS area, be sure to stop in and have Dalton, Moe, or any of the other guys set you up with one of these. I can almost promise you won’t be disappointed by this cigar if you’ve somehow eluded the chance to smoke one.

So, cigar tricks? It’s just a cool way to make your cigar smoking experience a little more interesting. You can try getting your ash as long as possible, then take a selfie with your cigar. You can try setting your cigar upside down on the ash, or you can do something i’d like to believe I thought of myself and set something on the ash of your cigar, like I did on the left of this photo with a box of matches. Of course you don’t have to do anything special with your cigars to enjoy smoking them, I think we can all agree on that, it’s just another fun thing you’re able to do if you’re feeling creative.
