Getting ready for October and Halloween!
I saw the idea online, it’s not my own idea but it is my own drawing. Â
Nightmares
Not my best charcoal work but I personally struggle with nightmares often so I felt it was important to draw something to show that.
Sorry, I realized that I already posted my Twenty One Pilots pages on this blog. I had forgotten, so now it’s on here twice.
One of my favorite Twenty One Pilots pages in my art journal.Â
Is God protecting you now?Â
(Sorry, I spelled protecting wrong in the photo)
A picture I did this morning. The quote is my own. The outline is of Disney’s Maleficent and inside is a child in a broken home. The idea was inspired off Maleficent's back story of her best friend betraying her trust and cutting off her wings while she’s asleep and how a child’s trust is broken by their parents when they live in a broken home. I put the child in Maleficent’s silhouette to show the connection.
I know that Maleficent’s backstory is actually a metaphor for being raped but I felt that would be a little too graphic for anyone that’s young or easily triggered so I choose this idea to put with it instead.Â
The drawing was done by me but is NOT an original idea. I saw a similar drawing online and recreated it in watercolor so credit to whose idea it was, I don’t have a name to credit them. But the saying I added to the top is not apart of the original inspiration picture.
Drawing I did of Gerard Way as the Killjoy, Party Poison.
This is a simple drawing I did back when I was 14 and in a band with my friends called Nightmare of a Shadow. The phrase, “I want to be something worth remembering” is a lyric I had written for one of our songs.
This is a drawing of my bathroom that I tried to kill myself in a few years back when I was younger and the poem at the top is something I wrote shortly after about self-harm, as cutting was the method I had used.
Maybe if I wear these headphones and turn the volume all the way up then I can pretend that you are not living just down the hall from where I sleep at night.
Just a page I watercolored full of small things I enjoy drawing. :)Â
This page was inspired by the # me too movement, the sexual violence I have been a victim to and to the problems related to those things that I see in the world around me.
Another Band/Music Page.
Page 1: “I write about true things, real-life matters for people who need a song to relate to as an emotional outlet.” Matty Mullins, Memphis May Fire
“I will die before I am doing something I don’t 100% believe in” Tyler Joseph, twenty one pilots.
Page 2: “The best shit comes out of terror. And that’s how the best records are made.” Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance
“My anxieties and compulsions are my secret weapon.” Andy Biersack, Black Veil Brides
“We’re not changing for anybody, and when all is said and done, we’ll not we never compromised.” Joel Birch, The Amity Affliction.
“I don’t care if everyone in the world hates me for being who I am. I’m just going to do it.” Chris Motionless, Motionless In WhiteÂ
Fictionalized Self-portrait.
This page of my art journal represents my older sister and I when I was younger. The left page is for my sister, Nicole, it shows what I think of when I think of her. Its a combination of all the things she loved leading up to the year that she took her life. The right page is of myself at the age of 12, which is how old I was when I lost my sister.
