I know I don’t post much on this blog anymore, but I had to pop back in because Deep Blue Sea is one of my favorite movies, and I when I saw this I was stoked for all of the 10 seconds it took to realize this looks like nothing more than an awful remake and I am really mad about it...

Bit late for them to be uploading this, but ok
Ozark Sharks is the first time I’ve ever seen the main involved couple not be together and not survive by the end of the movie. Usually the current romantic couple, or ex-couple, are the only people guaranteed to survive and be together, and the ones guaranteed to die are those interested in or involved with the mains. The movie itself was decent, not the best but not super shitty either. The music was decent, even fun, except when it was repeating the catchy pop number. Also, the ‘death by shark teeth shooting out of a wood chipper’ was interesting, if really slow in happening. I don’t know, it was alright while it lasted although the pacing and some of the scenes felt disjointed and weird, but it doesn’t really stick with you once you’re done with it.
Shark Killer is infuriating. This isn’t a shark movie. There ARE sharks, but they get all of 5 minutes of screen time, and the main plot is rival gangs fighting over a diamond the shark may have eaten. They even cut the shark attacks short before you can see what happens, and don’t even clarify after except to claim its following them, which was just as stupid when Jaws 4 did that. If you want this kind of criminal intrigue in your shark movie, make it more like Red Water than Shark in Venice, and by that I mean at least make it secondary to the shark. I am not here for gang warfare. I am also not here for your shitty forced romance between the main leads, one of which is an asshole who I wanted to punch throughout the entire movie but we are supposed to be rooting for. His adoptive brother is also an asshole, so I guess it runs in the family environment. The titular ‘shark killer’ also is never shown killing a shark until the last 2 minutes of the movie, until that point we’re just supposed to accept thats a thing he does despite hating everything to do with the ocean and despite not going for the sharks eye.
Again, this is not a shark movie. Don’t even bother with it.
Ice Sharks had some incredible strong points. I love when movies are set in the arctic, I loved that they psych you out with the rope dragging people into the water by having the second time rip the guys leg off, and there was a real sense of emergency and desperation to everything the characters did. However, there are once again scenes that go nowhere and threads that never get wrapped up (they never do show what happened to the guy whose leg got ripped off and he passed out on the ice), both the characters and the sharks had moments of incredible and stupid passivity, and the romantic couple are once again super forced and annoying to watch. Which is unfortunate, because it had so much going for it.
Eye of the Beast was pretty decent, probably because its an older movie so its mostly immune to the stupidity rampant in new movies. I could’ve sworn I’d seen it at the same time as Beneath Loch Ness, what with that whole infuriating racism thing that was present. There were a bunch of scenes that went nowhere, and I hate when there’s such a slapdash romance in movies (I generally hate romance in movies at all but especially when they’re badly done), but it was alright, I suppose.
Finally got to watch some of the movies from Sharknado week that I needed to see but missed.
how could that go so downhill so fast jfc...im actually mad about certain parts and elements in that
As someone who loves natural horror movies and shitty movies, of which Sharknado is included....please for the love of everything don’t make a fifth one. By part way through the 4th one, it was starting to not be fun anymore...
And then the closing scene.
Fuck off with that bullshit...
