Growing up

My mom used to tell me that it's okay not to be the best and just enjoy life. So i used to lived not striving as long as I did not fail in my studies. I never stressed myself to give my best. I'm always calm and relaxed. But as I grow up and work I feel like this attitude is not applicable. Now I need to work harder not because I'm slow but I also need to convince for I'm not used to it I need a lot of effort pushing myself. To try to give my best. I'm not not blaming my mom but I relized that it's time grow up.
