So basically I was at work today and I was getting my stuff out of my locker to go on break (the lockers are in the back room and there are cameras) and I saw this Michael kors keychain on a set of keys. I took it and concealed it in my bra and went on break and put it in my car.
Not long after returning from break one of the managers said “did u see my keychain?” And without thinking I played dumb and said no? What does it look like? And she was like “well only me and you share that locker”. And one of the other managers was like “don’t worry we will check the cameras”.
Now I’m freaking out and I don’t know what to do because I had no idea it was a managers :O
I’m afraid they will find me on camera taking it. I left work and they didn’t say anything but I knew that they were in the office reviewing the footage.
I really regretting do this. Please don’t lecture me. I have already learned my lesson for sure. I just want some honest advice of how to best handle the situation. Should I text the girl saying how I thought it was mine that I lost and then didn’t know what to do when she asked me? Or should I not say anything?
i don’t think you should’ve taken it anyway because it wasn’t an item sold by a corporation. it was an item that sincerely belonged to someone that you knew. i would fess up to the situation because them finding out from you is a lot better than them finding out from camera footage.
why would you take someone else's personal belongings??? i know you said "don't lecture me" but you can't expect to steal something of high value that someone else, someone you KNOW, probably dropped a lot of their hard-earned money on, then post "help me" on tumblr and not get ripped into. tell them you took it. "i didn't know i took it" is the worst excuse. the cameras will have caught you taking it off the set of keys it was already attached to and then concealing it in your bra—that is clearly pre-meditated behavior. also, you knew there were cameras and yet you took it anyway? not only is it fucked up to take someone else's shit, but you are asking to get caught like that. good luck with whatever happens. don't do shit like this again.
