Getting Caught Is Not Inevitable
So many people on here say that every Lifter gets caught. Not true. If you aren’t greedy and you know when to stop, you will not get caught. So many Lifters know their limit and haven’t and will never get caught. Not getting cocky or greedy is the key to success, and don’t let anyone tell you that you will fuck up one day. Play your cards right and that won’t happen.

Great advice!! So many times I’ve done this and felt awful afterwards. Like I should go back in and get my stuff and that I was just paranoid. Remember. There’s always another lifting day.

Got Caught
So I was at Kmart and I was with a friend who’s never lifted before (HUGE mistake). I had picked up a bunch of stuff and made it look like I was actually shopping like I normally do and then I concealed. My friend was acting super sus and I got a bad feeling but I ignored it. Also a huge mistake. My friend had insisted on buying gum and soda to make it less sus so I just rolled my eyes and let her to put her mind at ease. We had walked out the first set of doors when this man stopped us. He said “Hey I’m Kmarts loss prevention, and I believe you have some things that don’t belong to you” and he then proceeded to escort us to the back where the loss prevention office is. He had two SAs count up how much our stuff was. My friends was only 19 and mine was fucking 90. So he called my dad and then the police. While we were waiting an SA asked the LP officer how he knew we were shoplifting and he pointed to my friend and said “you don’t usually see a teenage girl picking things up without looking at the prices.” My dad got there and filled out some paper work and then the police came and got my information. They politely explained that I’ll be going to court and that I’ll probably just be put on a probation program and that there would most likely be little to no fine. So I guess I’m lucky. I’m not done lifting and I’m not done with this community. I just can’t do any heavy lifting (hehe) for a while. So the lesson here is ALWAYS LOOK LIKE AN ACTUAL SHOPPER! Always check for prices and look genuinely interested in the product. Also I advise strongly against bringing a newbie.

I’m not sure ablut all but my Bëd Båth and Beÿond preactivates cards with an already set amount of money.
I just got a $200 Visa gift card by concealing in the bedding section. I was originally trying to test on lifting gift cards (calling company, seeing what I could do, etc.) like I said I would but I tried to see if it was preactivated (The woman in front of my mom at the register bought a $50 Red Lobster giftcard and the woman didn’t activate so I decided to see if I could buy something online and see if it would work.
(During the holiday season most places preactivate so they don’t hold up lines.)

Don't some towers have this already? That's why I'm too afraid to have a hook or magnet. I just stick to lifting clothes that SAs forget to tag
Back in high school...
Back in high school my friend bought a new purse at pacsun. We went shopping with it another day and the towers went off at every single store. We searched the bag over and over and never found any tags. I think she ended up never using the bag again. To this day I wonder why the bag always triggered the towers.

I used to have a keychain shaped like a kitty that you could Lace your fingers through and use to stab someone in the fucking eyes. It's from amazon! weapons like those are safe to carry around and inconspicuous.

The first thing I ever lifted was tampons, because I literally couldn’t afford anything and I was desperate. As I was leaving the store I set off the alarm because I didn’t know I had to look for tags (hadnt discovered tumblr yet) and the box had a soft tag on it.
The W@l-M@rt greeter came up to me and asked to look in my bag. I kind of hesitated but she peeked in and saw the tampons and looked at me from over the top of her glasses. I was really red and shaking and clutching my stomach (cramps).
She nodded her head and took a step back and said “just this time ok?” quietly and waved me through.
I’m smarter now on knowing what to do, and in definitely not so innocent anymore. But I’m always thankful for that lady, I definitely wouldn’t expect the same kindness if I was caught gain.

i work at bath and body (in canada but im sure its same in the US) and we are installing cameras in the shelves , just a black dot. we are now being LP trained (like they try to offer us a free perfume if we catch someone and call security) just a warning !!! (not trying to be a dick, just i wouldn't notice them so letting u know)

theyve got speaker cams and really good lp + i think they have a chase policy? makeup is usually tagged so try dressing room conceal BUT they do have alot of lp
ive been lucky enough to have not gotten caught at kohl’s, but every time i lift from there i’ve had a bad feeling. one time i escapes with like 6 shirts under my sweatshirt, and another time i managed the pirate’s palette. all concealed in the dressing room. NEVER AGAIN.

my friends got caught …
this week four or five of my friends have gotten caught in various stores. I’ve been lifting with a few of them before, and it was absolutely terrible.
no shame to newbie lifters (we were all new once) but my friends were concealing out in the open, looking up at cameras and being shady to sa’s. I was trying to give them tips and help so they wouldn’t be caught, and arrested or anything. but they didn’t wanna take them.
now they go out lifting over Black Friday weekend, which is already risky and all 5 of them got caught 2 of them actually getting arrested, most likely because they actually let the sa’s search their bags.
LONG STORY SHORT - do not try to pull off 200$ + hauls if you’re not experienced or feel new / nervous. AND make sure that you know what you’re doing before you even think about lifting. YOU WILL GET CAUGHT EVENTUALLY IF YOURE SLOPPY AND CARELESS
