“What’s wrong with people being happy? Y’know, maybe you should smile more.”.
“I do smile. I smile when spoilt brats much like you are writing on the floor with that arrogant little smirk wiped off their face.”
“I'm not smirking,  goodness. What is the big deal?”
“What, have you not been outside?” she snorted. Even her best chance, when the island was under attack and the boats were unguarded, still had seemed, and been, impossible. “’Course it’s not easy. These’ve prob’ly been going for centuries.” Those in charge knew what they were doing. “At least one,” Georgia nodded, “Could be plenty.”
"No, I have, believe me. That’s definitely the stupid side of me that thinks that, and I’ll admit to that, because I know it is.” Lillie shook her head, “I’m just like everyone else here -- or most of them, I want out. I know how impossible it is though.” What she did n’t know, was what was keeping her from going insane, because it was definitely there at times.
“Have you ever seen them?”

“I just... asked if I could get some water.”

“Well in that case, I’ve just made one up, so now you can’t be.”

“Yes. You’re not supposed to happy slave, you’re here to serve.”
“There is still no rule that says I cannot be happy.”
“No, I was just wondering what was making you so cheerful - it’s rather irritating.”
“...being cheerful? That’s irritating?” Her head tilted. Here she was thinking that it was better than irritated and complaining like she’d heard many others be.

The blonde turned her head quickly, looking over her shoulder -- but there was no mistaking it. There was no one else there. He was talking to her. “What? I’m sorry, was I staring?”

“Probably.” Georgia shrugged, surprised at last that she’d never fought harder to actually leave the island at first. “Took a while to accept it all, but I don’t remember. The cells were a lot easier to escape at first, but it wasn’t hard to see there wasn’t a way off.” After a few seconds, she added, “That was another island, but it’s not much different here.”
"I can’t see it being too easy. It’s funny, though, because theres a part of me that just thinks if I could only get out of the door... Just get outside.” But the blonde shrugged, “Things are never that easy.” Her expression did change, however, those blue eyes widened. “There are other places like this??”

Maybe it was smart on their end, but Georgia would never see any of this as such. It was entirely fucked up, and though she was more than used to it by now, it’d never be any less awful. She shrugged, nodding at the other’s eventual agreement.
“Did you ever try to get out?” She asked abrutply, her eyes turning on the other, “I mean before you realized there is no escaping this place... when you first arrived -- did you ever try?”
“Just for fun..I took a couple classes here and there. What do you like to do?”
“I sang in my church’s choir before here... so I like singing.”
“No, they give it to us because it tastes nice.” Her retort didn’t make complete sense, but every part of her was still recovering from the moon, to be fair. “Could be if they didn’t do everything else in their power to make us miserable, too. S’not smart, it’s excessive.”
"Very excessive.” But that’s what made them smart. It was kind of like being in jail -- or christian parents, in her case. They overwhelmed you with things so that breaking free or into things you shouldn’t, was harder. Lless appealing after a while because somewhere you knew you’d never make it.
“It’s definitely not safe for you here, little one…” the tall, massive form replied, silhouetted by the moon overhead. “You should run along before you get in trouble…
He looked frightening. Perhaps it was his height in comparison to her own, petite frame... or perhaps it was the ominous glow of the moon. Either way, the little slave took a step back, quickly looking over her shoulder. She was probably already in trouble. She couldn’t fully remember her way back. “Are there wolves out?”
