“It’s this feeling that you want to love strangers, that you want to kiss the man at the post office, or the woman at the dry cleaners—you want to wrap your arms around life, life itself, but you can’t, and this feeling wells up in you, and there is nowhere to put this great happiness—and you’re floating—and then you fall down and become unbearably sad. And you have to go lie down on the couch.”
— Melancholy Play, Sarah Ruhl

remember that you are the love of your own fucking life
I really do love that romantic shit yo
how covid hasn't sparked some kind of genuine sustainable revolt centred around healthcare being a human right and the inhumanity of capitalism is beyond me. instead people just walk around willingly spouting shit about saving the economy because they want to go out to eat and kill their grandparents while they're at it
sometimes we are childish. sometimes we do something our 16 year old self would have done, think something our 11 year old self would have thought, cry like our 7 year old self would have cried. why is this so embarrassing? why does it make us feel such shame? when you’re 20, 30, 40, are you not also every age you’ve been before? do all of your previous incarnations not still live inside of you?
