On her instagram Lauren wrote she has an associate degree in nursing, Im not really knowledgeable in american eduction system but does that mean she could hypothetically works as a nurse like abbie?
You can absolutely become a nurse with an Associate’s degree, provided you pass the NCLEX-RN test to become a registered nurse. Lauren would not have gone through the trouble of taking that if she didn’t want to pursue a career with her degree.
I’ve heard Abbie is not an RN, but a Licensed Practical Nurse (I searched for a source on this with no luck, so much appreciated if anyone can find it!). This is typically a 1 year program, and LPNs have to work under the supervision of an RN. So, if Lauren ended up ever continuing on with her career (she’s said she won’t) and passed the NCLEX-RN, she’d be a higher ranking and higher paid nurse than Abbie.

From what I understand, don’t you have to have a bachelors to be a RN? It may differ from state to state, but at least where I live I’m pretty sure you must have a bachelors to become an RN
RN and LPN are both certifications, usually requiring the completion of some sort of clinical practicum + passing a cert exam (kind of like Jill’s CPM - whereas a CNM has a nursing degree). Technically I don’t think either requires a “degree”. A BSN is the baccalaureate degree in nursing, and many higher-level or more-reputable institutions won’t hire nurses unless they are RN + BSNs (esp not for manager/trainer positions). I worked with many RNs who werr working degree-less while they completed BSN (many who used their job $ to pay for further master/doctorate edu later). An associate’s in nursing is kinds of a useless, undefined entity. My guess is it’s the classroom material required for a nursing cert without the clinical experience. So in overall usefulness, Abbie with her real certification and practical experience in nursing > Lauren and her textbook learning about nursing.
This is....not quite true? An ASN is absolutely a useful defined degree and in most states (I can’t speak for them all) you can take the NCLEX-RN just like a BSN prepared nurse and work at any “higher-level or more-reputable” entity. Accredited ASN programs have clinical components just like BSN programs. Some jobs may require you to complete your BSN within 5 or so years due to designations like Magnet Status that require a certain percentage of BSN or higher prepared nurses....but otherwise there’s no real difference between ASN and BSN nurses. after completion of your BSN you don’t take any other test so they both have the same license when its said and done.
Granted there are ASN programs that are not accredited which is a whole different ball park, but that doesn’t mean that all ASNs are useless and undefined entities.
I was an ASN (now BSN and working on my doctorate) who took the NCLEX and worked as an RN at the #3 hospital in my state which is a level 2 trauma center....

do you ever just get a vibe that someone has a crush on you and then you’re not sure if they actually do or if you’re just really really self-absorbed
Not to be dramatic but John Mulaney saying “every time I walk down the street, I need everyone, all the time, to like me so much–its exhausting” is quite literally my biography and I’m shocked he knows so much about me
No offense @ christian kids but i think watching all those veggie tales did something to yall
tbh the worst thing about being a self aware mentally ill person is that people assume that because you understand your illness you’re automatically able to actually apply your knowledge to your life and cure yourself
Do I know my brain isn’t making the most sense right now? Yes. Can I stop it? No.
