I thought about a backstory for this while doing it, Xue Yang who is a borderline cannibalistic mermaid who frequently used to eat humans until Xiao Xingchen found him and took Xue Yang with him. Xue Yang would really like to eat Song Lan, but Xiao Xingchen won’t let him because he wants to keep Song Lan too.😌
Song Lan on the other hand fell from his boat in an accident and can’t decide what to feel rn.
Lohen tried to poison Varka and Varkas reaction is just a slight frown and that’s that, and the way Lohen called him Grandmaster~

this scene in the stage play was absolutely terrifying. at the same time, i was surprised by how physical everything was; every other adaptation was very quick, very cut and dry, and on stage we see the buildup, the pointless struggle...
It is pretty funny how Xue Yang and A-Qing are siblings but Xiao Xingchen is A-Qing's dad and also Xue Yang's boyfriend. Draw that family tree

Haha these I have thought about a lot, Song Lan has blackwork tattoos on his arms that he carefully planned for years, and one ear pierced.
Xue Yang has very random tattoos all over his body, some of them he did by himself, a lot of them he got while drunk, or in a moment of impulse. And a lot of piercings that he also did by himself. I usually give him a nose piercing, spider bites, industrials, earrings, helixes, & nipple piercings.
Xiao Xingchen has one simple cresent moon tattooed on his wrist that Xue Yang did for him, and earrings.

What's this? A W.I.P of my mdzs furry AU perhaps!? yes. yes it is. I shall title this eventual piece 'The Birds and the Bats'. Though my original title was gonna be 'A weird ass (not a) fruit bat leads a couple of (50%) blind feathered friends around for a kooky revenge plot.' That ended up being too long though. So puns it is then!
