Hey folks, unfortunately as for the original Expanded Universe Leia Lightsaber, it seems as though a lot of the information has been deleted. I'm struggling to find non contradicting information or images. If anyone has any information and/or links send me a message and I will look at them. I will continue looking.

This Lightsaber has been wielded by many Jedi and sith and was constructed by Anakin Skywalker after his original was destroyed. He created it after he became a Jedi Knight. It was brief stole by Count Dooku after a fight then it was stolen from him by Hondo Ohnaka. Anakin then managed to retrieve it once again. The Lightsaber again briefly changed hands when Anakin entrusted it to his wife Padme, she later returned it. After being captured by General Grievous the Lightsaber became part of the General’s collection. Anakin and Obi-wan broke free from captivity and Anakin retrieved his Lightsaber once more and wielded it as he turned to the dark side as Darth Vader. It was taken from him after he was defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. Obi-Wan Kenobi took the Lightsaber to Tatooine and was in possession of it for 19 years before giving it to Luke Skywalker (Anakin’s son). The Lightsaber changed hands briefly once again, while Luke was incapacitated Princess Leia Organa took up the weapon to face it’s creator and her father, Darth Vader. Her lack of skill made her easy to defeat, but with the spiritual guidance of Obi-Wan, Luke came round and was able to defeat Vader due to a blunder on the Sith Lords behalf. During a Later battle with Darth Vader Luke’s hand was cut off and it was lost, along with the Lightsaber. The hand and Lightsaber were later discovered and kept by Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine as a trophy. 6 years later Luuke Skywalker, a clone of Luke using genetic material from the hand, was armed with the Lightsaber. The clone was killed by Luke and he then passed it onto his wife, Mara Jade, as a gift. She used it until her death at the hands of her nephew Jacen Solo. After Mara Jade’s death Luke retired the weapon and kept it in the Jedi Temple. In the Star Wars Tales story line the weapon is wielded by an unknown Dark Jedi and then by Ben Skywalker, Luke and Mara Jade’s son. But the Star Wars Tales storyline is not entirely canon.

In the new canon, nothing has been released in regards to what happened after Luke lost it, along with his hand, but we do know that it came into the possession of Maz Kanata, it was briefly wielded by Finn (FN-2187) against a member of the First Order (stormtrooper), then later against Kylo Ren who wanted to claim it himself, before Rey claimed it as her own. She attempted to return it to Luke, but it was tossed away. After retrieving it Rey used it during her training, eventually abandoning her training to join her friends in the battle against Kylo Ren and the First Order. Eventually Rey was captured by Kylo and Supreme Leader Snoke, and the Lightsaber was briefly owned by Snoke, until his death when Kylo ignited it as it sat next to him and used it to cut him in half, before being wielded by Rey once again in a battle with Snoke’s Elite Praetorian Guards, where she threw it to Kylo to kill the last guard. After a brief struggle to retain the Lightsaber using the Force between Kylo and Rey, it was cracked in two, which was claimed by Rey as she fled. The Lightsaber appeared to be briefly wielded by Luke Skywalker in a duel between him and Kylo Ren, but that was later revealed to be an illusion created, using the force, by Luke. The Lightsaber was later restored by Rey using leather straps and she repaired the Kyber Crystal using force healing she learned from reading Jedi texts. During the final battle with Darth Sidious/Sheev Palpatine, Rey gave the Lightsaber to Ben Solo, then she took it back and along with Leia Organa’s Lightsaber defended Sidious’ force attack, deflecting it and killing him. This Lightsaber was buried alongside Leia’s on Tattooine at the old Skywalker homestead.

This Lightsaber was constructed and originally wielded by Leia Organa Solo, also known as Princess Leia or General Organa, it had a blue blade. She used it during her training under the tutelage of her twin brother Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. After some time (a year I believe) Leia had a vision that if she followed the Jedi path it would mean the death of her son, so she stopped training and gave the Lightsaber to Luke and left. Luke kept the Lightsaber with him during his exile on Ahch-Toa. After his death, Luke's Force Spirit gave Leia's Lightsaber to Rey, who wielded it against Darth Sidious/Sheev Palpatine. Using this Lightsaber as well as Luke's, Rey deflected Palpatine's force attack, killing him. Rey buried this Lightsaber, along with Luke's, on Tattooine at the old Skywalker homestead.

This Lightsaber was first constructed by Ben Solo, during his training with his uncle, Luke Skywalker. It originally had a basic weathered metallic hilt with a blue blade. He wielded it until his turn to the Dark Side after being betrayed by Luke. After joining Snoke Ben changed his name to Kylo Ren and began to remodel his Lightsaber, (this bit is pure theory) it is believed that while trying to turn his Kyber Crystal red, he damaged it causing it to crack. Kylo blackened the hilt, and using an ancient Lightsaber design he modified his hilt to have a cross guard with side vents, to vent excess heat and power, from the cracked crystal. Kylo's obvious lack of experience in Lightsaber construction is evident as there are exposed wires and his blade shimmers. This new design was wielded by Kylo until his return to the Light Side and his rebirth as Ben Solo, where he threw the Lightsaber into the ocean on Kef Bir.

A new Lightsaber will be coming soon. Some Lightsabers will be in the old continuity and some will be reworked in the new continuity (but still keeping the old one there for fans of the original expanded universe). Also on another note. I have received a few messages asking to buy Lightsabers. This page is informative only. I don't make or sell lightsabers. I wish I had the skill lol.
