A lot had happened since that day in the midst of the blizzard. Betsy wasn’t the person she once had been, not when he had known her. She had become what she had needed to: a weapon. It was still hard to break habits, especially when she still had that hollow within, the one she could calm with the promise of violence. "You just have a lot of questions..“ She repeated softly, keeping her gaze on him as she continued to study him. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking, she didn’t know what he was thinking. She stood before him completely guarded. Her arms folded across her chest as she finally turned her gaze to the wall, looking it over as she mused over the words he had spoken to her. "You’re looking at the wrong person, Warren. Whatever happened that night, whatever has happened is best left in the past. You should not go digging and picking at old wounds.” She paused for a moment, glancing back to him. She could have told him, she should have told him, but she just couldn’t bring herself to form the words. Whatever had happened that night, since then, was none of his business. That was the only way she could keep him safe.
“What else would you expect from someone after how you’d reacted to seeing me in the middle of all that.” He attempted to defuse the situation and is precisely why he’d smiled. She was clearly guarded and he knew he’d never get any answers with her being like that. Her reasons may be perfectly sound but that doesn’t dismiss his curiosity or need to find out why he is a clean slate. Why he lacks recollection of nearly everything aside from what he’s been told.
The wounds comment had caused him to involuntarily squint at her. It was a twitch of sorts. Did he really hurt her ego so? Or was that her way of attempting to kick him off his quest for knowledge?
Warren’s relationship with Betsy was nonexistent at this point, yet naturally he reached out to hold her. Both hands outstretched to slide down from her shoulder to her upper arm. He nearly did it too, but worried that she may have withdrawn completely, he'd stopped himself. His hands stood frozen hovered in the space between them.
"Then you should understand that in order for me to continue living my life, I'm going to need to know about it, Betsy." He paused, too busy examining her in search of tells. "One way or another, I'll find out what happened to me. To us." It didn't take much to figure out that before the blizzard something disasterous must have happened to them.
Betsy. She heard that familiar voice calling her name, causing her to stop in her step, frozen as she kept her back to him. He had no recollection of the events that had trespassed and Betsy intended to keep it as such. She slowly turned her head, catching a glimpse of him and even then she could barely tolerate the sight of him. It was him per se, it was what she had done, what she had become. He didn’t recognise her, not as he should have. He didn’t know what she had done to him, just how far she had travelled down the rabbit hole. He didn’t know she had killed her humanity the moment she had killed him. She took a deep breath as she turned, that violet gaze looking to him. Her expression was a stoic one, carefully controlled. She seemed calmed, perfectly in control. Control, something she missed, something she needed. Something she didn’t need to think of. She gave a slow bow of her head, her dark hair hiding those cruel features for a brief moment. "I’ve been rather busy, Warren. Is there something I can help you with?“ That felt empty, the tone in her voice giving way to nothing. She seemed bored with the conversation already but her gaze remained on him, studying him. It shouldn’t have been like this, it wasn’t meant to be like this. He was just a reflection of her failure to protect him and she could barely tolerate the sight of him. She needed to find a way out.
Warren had decided to study her, aside from what he’s heard about her from others, his only interaction was on that sole day in the midst of the blizzard. She was beautiful, stunning. Striking even. However compared to her previously affectionate gesture, she was clearly giving him a cold shoulder.
All of it justifiable. Perhaps. He'd been uncertain. What was it, what had happened to him to cause this great loss of recollection of intimate moments and impersonal history. Much had been forgotten. He was ready to apologize, to ask for forgiveness for seemingly rude loss. Yet, he may have felt something towards her before as it was there was no emotional ties. None. She was his history. A history forever lost to him.
"I've been thinking about that day," of course he had. It was basically his rebirth, the day she'd cleansed him of the evil that grew within. "I just have a lot of questions and was hoping you'd be able to help me make sense of it. Like what happened to me."
He'd been tempted to be somewhat flirty with her; they did hold history, even if he can't recall, and she was and will always be his type. So much so that with little to no understanding of her as a character, he found her so alluring, even with the icy exterior. But if he did, it could just make his bit of ice even thinner. He wanted some way to amend things with her but he'd be unable to do so until he learns the truth. Whatever it may be.

There are many questions he has regarding her, regarding them. They were together, an item. That's something he can't possibly deny due to various items making it clear. He, however, is unfamiliar with it all. For, he feels he isn't the same person as he once was. Be it amnesia, or not, Warren recalls none of it. To this very day, he is unsure why they'd met under those conditions those months or years (has it been so long?) ago (he's unsure, time slips away as he attempts to find a place, his place, among the school and X-Men).
Another fact he is most certain of is that she's been avoiding him. She seems to never take place in a meeting he's most certain she'd be present at, mostly due to her position as a...teacher, was it? X-Men, certainly. Could she be angered due to his complete lack of memories? That having emerged from the storm, he simply asked the question because he honestly lacked the single memory of her and them.
After a great deal of time lost since their first (last) encounter, Warren finally finds himself face to face with her again. "Betsy," he called out. There was no lingering sadness, for there were no emotional connection realized. Even after all this time. He has little to no recollection of the school, it's faculty and students, let alone his former partner and lover. "It's been some time."
