"Your Highness," Leah greeted the little princess, inside the ball room the guests were mingling but it appeared the little girl was not enjoying the party.

“H-Hello Your Majesty,” The girl stammered, dipping into a curtsy just as her grandmother had said she must. Such a large grand party was intimidating enough, but to meet her adoptive mother’s Aunt… that was almost harder. Such a regal woman surely had better things to do than try to ease an anxious child. Still, the smile calmed her, making her give the Queen a shy one in return. “T- thank you…” 

“H- have you travelled very far?”

"Yes, but I am very happy to be with you at this wonderful party, are you enjoying the party, Dear?" Leah asked, she felt a little sorry for the child, she reminded her so much of Aurora when she first returned home.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness. I am Queen Iduna of Arendelle." The gentle queen said with a warm smile, the girl was like the sun, warm and bright. Iduna was reminded of Anna in a lot of ways.

“Arendelle is beautiful, though I may be biased.” Iduna said with a small laugh.

“Snow is cold, but we only get a lot of it during the winter,” all this talk of snow was making her think of her darling Elsa and her gift.

“Up in the mountains, it can snow all year round though, perhaps your mother and father could come visit us in Arendelle someday.”

Rapunzel nodded even though she doubted her parents would be too keen on traveling anywhere for a while. “I think they’d like that,” she admitted with a sheepish grin and what she meant was, she would like that. Surely, eventually, her parents would let her go places and meet new people without a constant parade of security around her and too many fears she would disappear again. Gothel was gone afterall.

“Do you have any paintings of your home?” Rapunzel asked intrigued. “Oh, I am sorry. I am asking so many questions!”

"I don't, but I promised my youngest daughter I'd bring back a book on the plants that grow here in Corona." Iduna smiled, when the girl apologized for asking so many questions, Iduna shook her head.

"Ask away, my dear. I don't mind at all."

“Yes, a very long time ago.” Iduna said, she didn’t like keeping her past a secret from the girls. But no one could know what she was, not even Agnarr.

Iduna could however share a little bit of her culture with her children, and that would have to be enough.

“How long is a long time?” Elsa asked. The adults always said a long time ago, but what did that mean? It seemed like ages ago that Anna was born. Not that Elsa was complaining because she liked having a sister around.

Elsa yawned but she still looked at her mother expectedly.

"A long time before you were even thought of, Snowflake, before I even met your father." Iduna had been so young when her mother and father had died, Iduna had been raised by her mother's sister and the community at large.

"This shawl is all I have to remember my mother," Iduna said showing Elsa the much cherished shawl.

Normally, Iduna would not have given in, knowing that Elsa was just trying to delay bedtime.

But the request was so sweet.

“Alright, one more song,” Iduna said sitting down on Elsa’s bed.

“Do you want our usual lullaby?”

Elsa nodded as she sat up eager to hear the familiar lullaby fall from her mother’s lips. A song she knew by heart but could never sing with such, purpose. Her father would probably say it was too scary for a little girl, but it wasn’t. There was comfort to have in it; perhaps that was because it was her mother singing it.

“Mama,” Elsa started once her mother was done with the tune. “Did your mama sing you that song too?”

“Oh no, my dear.” The queen said, the story of the Lost Princess of Corona had reached Arendelle.

Yes Rapunzel was born a princess, but she had been raised as a commoner, so she forgave some of the awkwardness the young princess showed.

“I just wanted to introduce myself, I believe your mother has seated us together for dinner tonight. And conversation is so much easier when you know who you are sitting next to.”

Rapunzel nodded because it sounded like something her mother would do. She said Rapunzel needed to met more people. “That is probably true,” Rapunzel gave the queen, who was certainly more knowledgeable about, well, everything than herself. “Though I hear I have a skill at making conversation,” she said with a laugh recalling a particular moment at the establishment The Snuggly Duckling.

“Oh, can you tell me about Arendelle?” Rapunzel curious. She had hardly seen any of Corona let alone somewhere so far away. “My dad said it snows there... Is it cold? I read snow is cold.”

Rapunzel turned at the sound of a voice, an unfamiliar one. “Oh hello,” she said happily as she brushed a golden strand of hair off her shoulder. “I mean,” she paused recalling that she was supposed to act properly when her parents were hosting guests, especially royal ones.

Rapunzel bowed her head as a show of respect. “The pleasure is all mine, Your Highness.” She told Iduna as she straightened up. Her parents had told her a little about Arendelle, but she couldn’t recall all of it. Other than it was in the north and colder than Corona. “Is there anything you need? Anything I can get you?”

“I love you mama,” Elsa told her mother as she threw her arms around her mother and held her tightly. Her mother was warm and smelled like the cinnamon and other warm spices that had wafted out of the kitchens earlier.

Elsa’s smile faded slight. “But...” She started knowing any excuse to delay bedtime would like not work, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t try. “Can I have one more song before bed?” She tried hopeful it would work.

Poor child. Leah's heart truly went out to the young woman, resting a hand on her shoulder, Leah tried to smile encouragingly.
