He only just softens when talking to TB, only a little bit when talking to the other AE express members but when talking to everybody else his voice is booming, especially when he is serious. imagine a world where danheng is dating stelle. a universe switching moment happens, and suddenly stelle is replaced with caelus. after the initial confusion and panic, the astral express crew decides stelle must be male in the other universe (this is male stelle? omg how wild is that) they get a lot cooler about caelus.

caelus is not particularly concerned about getting back (someone smarter than him will figure this out) but he IS concerned about danheng being weirdly standoffish and march being weirdly… something. she stares at him for long moments without blinking, stands really close, asks him very odd questions, and he swears that one time she sniffed him.

just as caelus is becoming convinced there's a lot more differences in this universe than his gender, march says something that lets it slip that stelle and danheng are dating.

(what caelus doesn't put together is that march has been so curious about him because she's practically convinced herself that the other universe her is dating this weird male version of stelle, and trying to decide how she feels about that.

caelus doesn't put this together because he's too busy saying, "the other me is dating danheng? im sorry, i could have been dating danheng this whole time?? that was an option??")

caelus then starts operation, observe-the-danheng-who's-dating-alternate-universe-him.

danheng does not like this operation. he would like to not think about any of this at all, thanks, and also he'd like his girlfriend back from the mystery void, can they please focus on that? but now caelus is doing what march was doing, staring a lot, standing too close, ignoring personal boundaries and social norms. but the thing is, even though caelus and stelle aren't the same person, they kind of are. and danheng keeps forgetting himself and finding caelus kind of dumb and charming and--oh hell, is he into guys? he did not need to know this about himself.

anyway. shortly after, caelus and stelle are returned to their rightful universes. danheng is very relieved to see his girlfriend, and does his best to never think of the incident again.

meanwhile in the other universe, caelus starts operation: seduce danheng.
