me vs thinking about the fact that yolente had every possibility in her to be as soft and kind as wulfe is but it got stolen from her at every turn ,  and that she made herself someone hard and unrelenting and scary to fight back against what everyone wanted for her .   wulfe got to fight ,  he got cherished ,  he got promised that he would be a king with armies that could rule nations .  and what did she get ?  she got taught to sew ,  to be a mother ,  to be quiet ,  to be beautiful ,  to be a pawn that her parents would use to secure land or soldiers or alliances .  she was born being told that her destiny was nothing more than being a bride ,  and she despised that .  she wanted to be a king .  she wanted armies .  she stopped caring about being adored ,  about being cherished ,  about being compliant or beautiful  .    she was first born and she wanted to be king of belgovia but it was stolen from her .  and she turned her beauty into something haunting ,  something ethereal and terrifying and cold .  people thought she was bewitched because of how haunting and scary she was .  she had every right to be gentle and loving and she still has that capability in her but it’s covered by what she made herself into... she refuses to back down.. she’s strong and fierce and frightening and she won’t soften that willingly for anyone .
