Sharing Pain

Having a debilitating hip and back pain wasn’t something either of you were a stranger too. Felix’s pain was due to an injury in a car accident, yours however was chronic pain. He knew better than anyone how painful it could be, how much of a hurdle it was to get through every day. Which us why there was so much patience and stability in your relationship.

There was times on stage, during a fan meet, where Felix’s pain just became too much. He needed relief, but with so many people watching it felt impossible. While the crowd watched Hyunjin and Chan do something together, Felix came and stood in front of you while you were sitting in your stool. Pretending to fix his clothes, you pressed your thumbs into his lower back and made circles. You felt his body jerk, you shushed him gently and kept going.

A few cameras caught the interaction, the way Felix’s face scrunched in pain yet still softened when you spoke to him. The clip went semi viral with the concern of both of your healths. Although it was never spoken out loud was obvious that the two of you were very close and knew how to manage each other’s pains.

In a recent skz vlog, you lay on the floor, accidentally haven fallen asleep to music. Jeongin, sat beside you and pat your back while you slept. Felix however, had just came back from getting water. Seeing you on the floor, laying on your stomach was a given. He sat over your legs and brushed your shirt up. The pressure of his palms made you whine in pain, but it’s common knowledge that Felix is extremely good in massages. His warm hands worked your hips and around your tail bone. Eventually the whining stopped and began to help. Jeongin asked him questions about your pain, Felix answered a few but didn’t give every detail incase it wasn’t something you wanted others to know.

At home, this same behavior continued. When the pain became just too much, he was there to help. When you dropped something and could bend over at all? Felix was there to help you. If Felix was frustrated because it hurt to sit? You’d adjust all the blankets in the bed to support whatever position felt the best. And if both of you were in pain, the day was filled with affection and gentle reminders. “It’s okay sweetheart, make sure you stretch later. Please drink water.” He’d gently shush you if the pain began to make you cry.

“I know, I know. Let me help you shampoo.” And when you were finished? You’d put some shampoo on your hands and begin to wash his hair as well.

Going to the beach together was another thing, laying on a soft towel, warm sand over your feet and the sun hitting the aching joints in your body made a bit more bearable. The sand molding to your position. That night, when the two of you are in bed and the exhaustion kicked in, the peacefulness finally settled. The gentleness, the patience, and the love never went away— never faltered.
