Because her sass is one of my favorite things! And I especially LOVED her in that last shot… after she beat the most powerful man in Ballarat. I was so looking forward to seeing more of that Jean. But then, she was always that Jean to me. I will celebrate her forever! #viva la jean
Still, and always, favorite character.
Love that I have been to Ballerat . Sigh
Refusing to settle.
This is just another reason why I love Lucien and Jean. Their love their independence their strong will. I can’t wait to see them together again!

Jean Beazley Appreciation Post (17/?)
Dead.
Love that smile!
750 words of Saturday morning fluff…
They had been back from their honeymoon for months. She was going about her business just as she always had, but with her chin held higher and her shoulders more firmly set, soaring on the knowledge that she was right. He was not some disastrous decision she had made, he was the best decision she would ever make.
Everyone seemed to be overly kind now as she ran her errands. Smiles from old friends who had become strangers in the last year, smiles from everyone. Dr. Blake’s wife. That’s why she found it so disturbing when she noticed two biddies huddling and clearly chatting about her at the library. She brushed it off and went about looking for a new book for herself and perhaps she’d find one to bring for Lucien too.
She was considering a novel from one of her favorite authors when she heard Lucien’s name come through the books. She froze, moving her ear closer to the shelf.
“I tried to get Jim to let us switch to Dr. Blake, at least then I could have feigned illness to get close to him.” And two voices giggled.
Jean’s eyes flew wide.
“I’ve had a thing for him since he returned. Something so worldly and wild about him. Dangerous.” The other voice said.
“We were at The Club for Jim’s work banquet last year and he was at the bar chatting with Mr. Drury. When I walked by him, his scent and little nod of acknowledgement at me made my knees weak. He’s just so handsome.”
Jean had to cover her mouth to stop a laugh from escaping.
“Yes, I know… There’s just something about him. That Jean is one lucky woman.”
“I’ll say. Now a handsome doctors wife with not a care in the world. Talk about Prince Charming.” And both of the ladies gave out a sigh.
Jean had a proud smile on her face. Although she knew life with Lucien would never be without worry.
“Well, she sure had a lot of trouble getting him, between the church and his drinking antics. Almost getting himself killed.”
“I would gladly burn in hell to wrap my legs around that exciting mess of a man.” Her friend agreed with her.
That last bit gave Jean a shock, so she moved on, not wanting to hear any more.
There was an extra skip in her step for the rest of the day. She turned on the radio and was happily singing along as she made dinner later. Her smile broadened when she heard the front door. She could almost count the seconds it took him to drop his bag in the office and make his way to her. A beautiful part of the routine that had taken over most of their days.
She heard his feet just before she felt his hands, slipping around her waist and pulling her back into him for a little kiss just behind her ear.
“How was your day?” He asked as he placed another kiss on her neck.
She turned in his arms, holding his gaze for a heartbeat as her hands slipped under his jacket to explore his back. Then moving her lips over his, she began a slow, deep kiss. His response to her was immediate, they read each other’s cues so beautifully. Always falling in line like a fresh rain drop to a stream, flowing together.
She pulled away, returning to his beautiful blue eyes, sparkling with love and adoration, “It was good, but I missed you.” She kissed the tip of his nose.
“Everything okay?” He read the something extra in her eyes and voice.
“Yes, everything is wonderful. I just love our life and feel so lucky, that’s all.” She had a sweet smile on her lips and she turned back to chopping vegetables.
“I’m the lucky one. I’ve won the best prize in the world.” He said returning his arms around her waist where they had started, chin on her shoulder. “I too love our life, and I love you, so very much.”
As he moved away, she wondered if she could make it through dinner before showing him how much she loved him. Her hands were tingling to scratch that itch as she tried to finish chopping.
She heard him pouring a scotch and could taste it, feel it… his tongue brushing it in her mouth. She put the knife down and untied her apron.
“Lucien, pour me a sherry please.” Dinner would have to wait.

Remember the last time the FCC nearly killed net neutrality?
Tumblr had this nice big banner at the top of your dashboard alerting any active user about the problem. Guess what has changed since then? Verizon, one of the companies gunning for the death of net neutrality owns yahoo who in turn own Tumblr. Spread the word, tell everyone you can: battleforthenet.com tag posts you see about net neutrality with popular tags so the news spreads.
