Ok so this is a completely wild idea and I have no idea if someone has brought something up like this BUT;
I got to thinking with my mom about Eurovision and how because we can’t watch ESC this year what if we made our own. She is talking with some of family about it, but I wanted to see how people on here felt about making a tumblr ESC?
My idea is people can reach out to join in submissions for countries. How ever many people join in with get 1+ random countries that they have to find and pick a musical artist from that country. Doesn’t matter how long they have been a band or solo artist they just have to be currently making music. The people will pick a band and a music video by them that they have released in at least the past two years with an additional info card about the band and their country.
Come May when everyone would typically watch ESC we get together and watch all the music videos that have been submitted and vote on our favorite one. (I do not know how we would do the voting, but if someone knows of a way that could work and wants to reach out I’d love that!) Anyone that votes can only pick one artist and only has one vote.
I just want there to be away everyone can come together and listen to new music we may have never been exposed to WITHOUT supporting a genocide. Eurovision once stood for bringing people together with music but their recent siding with isnotreal has ruin that, but we shouldn’t let that stop us from enjoying all the beautiful music Europe has to offer!
