Regarding the Situation Between @hazelriri and @miracleofdatabase
I'm speaking on this situation now as someone in the fandom who has been more or less hovering around this situation since it was brought into the Code: Brainrot server a few days ago.
And while I can't comment on much, I want to talk about some detective work I have done in regards to the anon hate sender. And specifically, my ongoing investigation in regards to their identity.
While I do not condone the rest of Miracle's actions, I wanted to prove their guilt or innocence in regards to the anon hate Hazel has received.
And I have come to the conclusion that Miracle was not responsible for the anon hate Hazel has received.
Why have I come to this conclusion?
Simple: Through linguistic profiling.
For those who aren't into true crime or forensics, there is something everyone has called an idiolect. Its the unique way a particular individual uses language. From their spoken accent to their writing quirks to even how they use non-traditional language to communicate their thoughts, like what kind of reaction images they use.
So, because I wanted to prove whether or not Miracle was guilty, I compiled together the few anon hate asks that Hazel was able to post onto tumblr. I then studied them carefully for typing quirks. Words used, how they structured sentences, whether or not they used emojis and/or emoticons, how they spelled words, etc. All to build a decent idiolectic profile on the anon hater.
Here's what I found, after combing through the (albeit small) pool of samples:
Consistently used the words 'cunt', 'dyke', and 'clown' as their main go to insult words for Hazel
Used 'lol' and 'lmao' frequently
Typed almost exclusively in lower case. No proper capitalization at the beginning of sentences and only used uppercase letters for the emoticon 'XD', the beginning of a single ask, and the word 'LOL' in that same ask.
Noticeably used the phrase 'go die' frequently enough to be noteworthy
Never used proper punctuation, even if grammatically appropriate to do so
Used emojis, with the only noteworthy emoticon being 'XD'
With this information, I then compiled a basic idiolectic profile of Miracle, having subcategories for each alter and then compared to the two. Since I've been in several servers with them and have access to their tumblr, this idiolectic profile was much easier to build than the anon hate sender's.
And what I found directly contradicted the narrative that Miracle sent the anon hate.
Piece #1: Miracle never uses emojis, especially on tumblr. I've combed through their tumblr account and found little to no instances of them using emojis in any capacity.
Piece #2: Miracle noticeably types with proper beginning capitalization, no matter the sentence, and tends to properly use commas and question marks. This is consistent among alters (Figures 1-3 to demonstrate what I mean)
Piece #3: I have several samples of Miracle insulting other people or writing characters insulting people and, among the samples I could compile, Miracle never used the notable words I listed. In fact, I had to ask them directly whether they used the words at all period and they told me that it was so low that it registered in the single digits or completely zero. This is in contrast with the profile where these words are consistent insults.
This evidence proves that Miracle did not send the anon hate. In fact, I believe it was either a coincidence to them getting blocked or, more farfetched, someone is framing them.
And you might be asking 'Boxy, couldn't someone easily fake their profile?'
Well, I thought of that too.
To deliberately change your idiolectic profile is very hard, especially for more subtle things like capitalization, grammar, and punctuation usage.
While it would be easy to simply use different insult words, its very challenging to dramatically change capitalization and punctuation usage when typing. It would be too much effort for a simple act of anon hate, especially if it would only be seen by the victim who would be too emotionally distraught to launch an investigation into who sent it.
Hence why I am firm in my belief that Miracle is innocent in regards to the anon. In everything? I believe it is up to debate.
It does not completely absolve Miracle of what they had done, but it does clear up one of the heavier allegations in this controversy.
As of right now, I am currently investigating the real identity of the anon hate sender. Primarily because, while I am still trying to figure out the whole puzzle regarding the controversy, I am fairly certain the hater is someone from in the community who at best was coincidentally doing this, or, at worst, deliberately timed their anon hate with Taunie getting blocked and wanted to frame Miracle. And I don't want them to walk away from this all unpunished.
I know my relationship with everyone in the community isn't the greatest, but I wish to set the record straight on several things. Much of all part of the harassment Hazel faced.
While Hazel could've handled the situation better, I do feel bad for them and I hope they move on to greener pastures.
