i love orangutans so much and nothing fills me with agony more than knowing there are so little of them left because deforestation is taking their homes away and illegal pet traders hunt the young ones. i start crying so hard when i think of those gentle creatures that spend 8 years nursing every child they bear (no other animal spends more time with its mother than the orangutan, the mother builds a new nest for her baby every night, the babies love their mothers so much that even when they’re old enough to live on their own they visit their mom just like us) and who live in trees and eat fruit and are so smart are going extinct. this isn’t how anything is supposed to be in this world and im just some girl who cant change a thing
