As much as I enjoy a ship focused fanfic, can we please appreciate the plot driven fics. Seriously. I’ve read some of the most passionate, beautiful fics purely made for the plot and they need more credit form the fanfic community <3

What’s better?
Wattpad’s comments system
Ao3’s tagging system
How dare you make me compare them
I love coming up with ideas for fanfictions but as soon as I sit down and try write it I feel like I want to rip all the hair follicles of my scalp.
After a bit of soul searching and self discovery, I have come to the conclusion that I can only write fanfic when I’m procrastinating doing important work. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
The hardest decision to make is whether to write the next chapter for my WIP or start a new work.
New potential friend: do you have any hobbies?
Me: yeah! I love to read!
New potential friend: oooh what books are your favourite?
Me: *starts sweating* umm, online books…
New potential friend: …
Me: …
New potential friend: you read fanfics don’t you?
Me: *whispers* one of us?
Personally, the most exciting part of the new Spider-Man: brand new day coming out is the serge of fanfiction we’re gonna get!!! I can’t wait for Peter angst!
How many fandoms do you guys read for?
I only really read fanfics for 3 main fandoms. Luckily for me they are very large fandoms so there are a lot of fics. But I’m curious about you guys.
so…
How many fandoms are you in?
What are your fandoms?
And how big are they?
Do you recommend them?
GUYS
Any AO3 readers out there?!
I need your help
Pls shout at me to start writing the next chapter of my fic!
I need harsh encouragement!
Thank goodness AO3 is back, now I don’t have to spend my lunch break staring at the wall thinking about how much I loath my life :D
Tony stark is a human trafficker.
Okay let me explain
I love Tony but he is technically a human trafficker
The definition of human trafficking is “the unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work service, typically in the form of forced labour or sexual exploitation.”
So let’s remember spider-man homecoming
1) Tony stark transported a minor out of the US to a different country (Germany)
2) Peter Parker clearly states he doesn’t have a passport so Tony transported him without a passport
3) Tony lied to May Parker about the reason for peters trip, claiming it was for the stark internship, so Tony didn’t gain fully informed consent from a legal guardian.
4) Peter originally didn’t want to go (“I have homework”) So Tony Stark blackmailed Peter Parker to come with him, by threatening to expose him as Spider-Man to Aunt May.
4) Tony Stark used Peter Parker for physical labour as a child soldier.
5) In New York the legal age to start work is 14 years old (which Peter is) but they are not allowed in hazardous working conditions. clearly, fighting in a civil war is very dangerous and Peter was in direct combat. (eg: hit by a drone and thrown out a window)
Soooo…. Yeah.
Correct me if I was wrong or missing anything.
:)
When starting your nightly bed time story turns into hearing birds tweet and light seeping through your curtains… I regret nothing
If I wrote fanfic as much as I read fanfic then I would be the single most productive writer that ever lived beyond doubt.
That feeling when an author updates a fanfic that hasn't had a new chapter in ages and you feel so incredibly happy... only to realise you haven't updated your own fic in months... oops
Has anyone else noticed fandom culture has gotten terrible on Pinterest? It feels like every time I see a fanart of a ship (specifically a rarepair or gay ship) there's so many hate comments.
I genuinely don't think I can survive without Ao3...
